Reflections at Federation Square

Another photo from my trip to Melbourne last week.

Can you see where the reflections start and finish? Inside these glass panels you can see the unusual materials used in building the Atrium part of Federation Square in Melbourne.

Quoting www.arcspace.com/architects/Lab/federation_square.htm:

Three cladding materials:
Zinc (perforated and solid), sandstone and glass have been used within a modular basis established by the triangular pinwheel grid. This fractally incremental system uses a single triangle, the proportions of which are maintained across the single tile shape, the panel composed of five tiles, and the mega-panel construction module composed of five panels. The unique quality of the pinwheel grid lies in the possibility of surface figuration and framing shapes to be independent from the grid's smallest component unit, the triangle.

All a bit over my head, but please look at the workshop, you should be able to understand a bit more about what that means.

Hey... it look like it has been broken into million pieces and then put them back together... nicely. Hehehe... Well....this is the feeling I get when I see it. the reflection also look weird but kool! Looking into your workshop even weird, I most properly get dizzy when I get in there.... hahahaha...

Good shot my friend, well captured. Thanks for sharing,

Cheers,
Sweety

Hi Janice,

This really looks like interesting architecture! The reflections create a strong interest to the composition. Great POV & contrast!

Well done

hi! janice interesting composition... nice architecture shot... great reflection... thanks for sharing (",)

Hi Janice,

impressive architecture and very well captured with the multitude of reflections. The workshop showing the interior is equally as impressive. Not something I see in Launceston but down here they tend to recycle older buildings, very little modern stuff at all. Well seen and captured, TFS,
David

hi Janice
beautiful reflexion photo, nice framing and pov, very well composed.
great job
greetings
hichem

well spotted! the reflection in the modern glass building and the old church in the background make for a very interesting picture,
tfs!
J.
ps many thanks for your kind comment on my giraffe picture!

Janice,

I love these shots where building glass morphs in reflection, especially in contrast with the more straight lines in the other shapes. And on second glance I see the "antique" spire jutting up midst all the other modern structures! Great! Nice catch.

Good work. Sometimes I wish I could put all of my favorite photos on a wall so that I could look at them every day . . . then again, maybe that would be too overwhelming.

Keep shootin'

Richard
