[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This shot was taken from the Manly Ferry on it's return to Circular Quay, Sydney. Locally known as 18 Footers these small boats travel at incredible speeds – they are a pure racing boat and have been sailing on Sydney Harbour since the late 1800s. With a very small hull and so much sail area it’s not difficult to see that these are very difficult boats to sail. The crew spend almost all their time perched out on the wings to keep the thing from capsizing.
I darkened the sky, cropped , added a little saturation and sharpened.
