My first posting on TL - how exciting! To start out with a simple photo of a tree may seem unadventurous, and perhaps it is, but texture and colour fascinate me, and I saw both when I laid eyes on this while we were driving on the Luritja Road from Kings Canyon to Uluru (Ayers Rock). It looks like a casuarina, but I suppose it can't be because it's in the middle of the desert. (Tips on botany as gladly accepted as ideas on post-processing, of which there isn't any here.)

Welcome Steven, exciting yes, I remember it well, but also addictive. I love the movement, blur effect of the leaves of the Casuarina. Great BG colour.

Welcome Stephen and nice to see the male half of the family. Looks to me to be a Casuarina, I know they grow quite well in the desert areas of Western Australia. Good colour in the sky and the colour of the tree most natural. TFS,
David

Hi Stephen,

welcome to TL, its certainly an unusual tree and you have captured it well
cheers
Jack

Welcome to TL, my dear!! I am so happy you finally joined us! I remember when you spotted this beautiful tree wishing it had been me... With the wind sweeping gently through it and the sky ever so clear and blue, the tree was simply 'asking' to be photographed. You did a fine job. Looking forward to seeing more of your work here on TL! - Love, C.:)))

Welcome to TrekLens! Unadventurous? Not at all - the metering here is great, and the saturation, especially of the sky, is very well delivered. Love that gradient!
Great work

Hi Stephen,

Welcome to TL. Great first post, interesting tree I thourght at first it was ice a[nd then I read your note that says it is in the desert. The sky is amazing. Great shot

Cheers
Tom

I have run out of ;) today will post one tomorrow

Splendid lights and colors. it is really beautiful result.

To renforce the "desert" effect, I will suggest to eliminate the other trees details out of the main one. (I will try to suggest a workshop later on).

Hi Stephen,
great colours and sharpness in this. I love the light green against the vivid blue background.
Cheers, John.

Beautiful!!

She reminds me the Willow.
The tree that I adore for the beauty and majestic that she is.
this has something similar to the Willow, for the fallen leaves giving a beautiful look.
His bg is wonderful of this blue blue sky.
Congratulations

Hi Stephen, great shot, I love the graduation of blue colours in the sky going from light blue on the horizon to the deep blue overhead. I think this might be a blue gum tree, I have a very similar tree on my garden here in Bahrain!
Cheers, Les
