Here is my contribution to this Friday's theme. First I didn't know what to make of it. Then, looking through my photo folders I realized, hey, there are 'natural abstract' shapes all over the place, like in this photo: it shows you a fraction of the world's biggest monolyth, Uluru. Located in the 'red centre' of Australia it is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists each year, who come - like we did - to marvel at the spectacular sunrises and sunsets. With its early or last rays the sun intensifies the already very red rock and soil around Uluru, changing the nuances by the minute. Definitely worth seeing! This image was taken at sunset.

ciao Marco

Hello Cordelia! Amazing perspective. Beaitiful colors. Beautiful lightness. Good contrast. Very interesting minimalistic picture. Good luck!

Great shot - a very good natural-abstract with that unmistakeable "Australian Red" hue. Crop is perfect with the corner-to-corner diagonal, good sharpness and metering.
Well done!

Hi Schatz
I would say this was stylised rather than abstract, but either way it's very attractive. The diagonal crop was a good choice, the lines are interesting, and the colours work well together, especially the stunning outback red. The texture of the rock surface is so clear it's almost palpable.
Well done!

Hi Cordelia, i love photo cose i recognized straight away what it was, but then you shot it in a very different angle, and yes it does look very abstract! well done.
cheers. LuDivine

Superb Cordelia and the forms in teh rockface are extremely abstract. That lovely red of the inland contrasts well with the blue, clear sky. TFS,
David
