Dunsborough is situated approximately 250km south of Perth in Western Australia's south west corner. Once a sleepy holiday resort with large areas of natural bush running down the the shoreline Dunsborough is now a major tourist centre.

I have fond memories as a young child of staying with my Mother's oldest sister in Dunsborough and paddling in these calm waters. My sister and I had just been to visit our Aunt (now 98) and I wanted to see this small beach and bay which I had not visited since the mid 70's. The waters of course are part of the Indian Ocean.

Another shot from my 2005 visit to Western Australia.

great perspective and light and colors... beautiful place...

Love the color and the clarity. Its one of those 'feel-fresh' kind of photos. Nice.

Hi Dave,

Nice day out the beach! In fact I wouldn't mind being there now as it's quite hot here...

Lovely colour tones & natural lighting. Great sharpness too!

Well done

Hi David,
Beautiful POV and perspective. The blue colors are very luminous and the pebbles on the beach very sharp. Nicely done! Annie

Hi David, what super colours you have here. I know you don't like to follow the 1/3's but I would love to see a few inches cut off the top of the sky. Then we could concentrate more on the sand, stones and sea. And they do look good!
Cheers
Janice

Hi David,

nice landscape, very calm, maybe too calm. Little more saturation would lift it up imho.

Hi David. I like the lightness very much and the colors, also the idea to divide the sky from the sea with this small belt.

Hi David, it is soon July and summer holiday time for me. This is the perfect reminder. Cheers Gareth

It's strange visiting a place you haven't seen in years - the memories just come rushing up, and you almost feel as though time hadn't passed at all. This is a timeless scene, so you probably found that very little had changed... :) Very nice that you took some time to visit.

Thanks for sharing with us. It's very pretty.
Gayle :)

Hello David,
This is a beautiful image!
The composition is so simple, but still you do everything the right way...
Excellent foreground interest, beautiful sky and very well done!
Colours are natural, sharpness & details are from the upper shelf...
Greetings,

hi, david
it's hard to believe such clear waters are real.... but down there a lot of things are so much different...
fine place, I hope people are preserving its beauty and never lose their love for that place and for each other, at least while there.
wish you all the best,
cal

Look at that water! I so want to be here David! With my toes in the sand! Really nice simple shot, but evokes LOTS of emotion!
