Back when I loaded this image I mentioned that my sister and I had been to visit and Aunt who was 98. I was a year out with my calculation of my late Mother's eldest sister. I received a phone call from my sister during the week to let me know that our Aunt had passed away peacefully at age 98. Two of her sisters are still alive, one will be 97 this year and the other 90.

I have fond memories as a young child of staying with my Mother's oldest sister in Dunsborough and paddling in these calm waters.

This photo was taken looking slightly south of where I took the previous shot of the beach from, the waters are the Indian Ocean about 30 kilometres from where it merges with the Southern Ocean...Another shot from my 2005 visit to Western Australia.
Rest in peace Aunt Gladys.

David,
Lots of texture here and good use of light. No OE and for a beach shot that's great! I love the changing colors in the water, from green to blue and back to green. Very well written notes and ...as always....a GREAT quote to top it all off.
Well done my friend,
Scott

Hi David,

I love the composition. The dry and hard as FG, and beautiful blue sea. This nature is not changed much, and memories are still there. Great shot my friend.

Tfs,
Tjutjut

It's definitely a nice and effective POV. Very well exposed and good detail. Well done.
Best wishes,
Achim

hi, david
I cannot comment on those ladies... but I recall a few words from a poem:
"... we live to embrace it all and lose ourselves someday.
a deep, blue God is the sea in which we will perish."

there's a place on the Black Sea shore where we have all shades (some impossible) of blue and turqoise, clouds from black to white at the same time, waves and calm waters, too, cliffs, rocks and the finest sand. looks even wilder than here, but it's of the same beauty. it's called 'Vama Veche'.

a fine picture/tribute of yours here. thanks
regards,
cal

For a photo taken the last day of Winter it looks very inviting. Sometims when I see these beach shots I wonder why the heck I choose to live so far from the beaches these days. 98, yipes we are still babies.

Hi David,

Your composition is fantastic. A viety of blue hues are most attractive part of this image. Nice point of view. Sand with rocks on the beach are interesting. Fine shot my friend, well done.

Thanks for sharing this image.

Hi David,

Lovely seascape, with vivid colors, excellent clarity and a very well thought composition, which along with the great DOF results to a great shot!
