Hi David,
You certainly have a great view from the office, the seat on the left too! The lighting is good here showing all of the knobs and buttons along with all the displays, an interesting view but beyond me LOL.
Well done

An awesome shot David, great to see this POV.
You managed to get the instrument readings so clear.
Managed light inside and out perfectly.
Geat colors and focus.
Very impressive!

David,
OH MY GOSH!! What an awesome shot of your office! It's really something that many of us never will get to view in our lives. Thanks for sharing it with us. I can only imagine the beautiful sunrise and sunsets you get to enjoy.
You have terrific detail and sharpness of the instruments! The colors, brightness, etc... are super with the available light! I do recognize one thing... :D
Thanks for sharing this terrific view, as well as all off your shots from the air.
thanks, Lisa

What a great shot, really sparks my imagination. I've never been in the cockpit of a plane - I would love to, one day!
I guess in terms of composition - what is included, what is excluded, etc - it's a little 'snapshot'-esque, but within the confines of the cockit it's hard to do anything else. Amazing sharpness for a 1/8s exposure!
I'm flying in a couple of weeks. I love to travel but flying scares the heck out of me.

I used to work on, and occasionally fly with, air force pilots and planes and did get to see the view from the 'front'. Of course, this was some time ago, the late 60's/early 70's and there were a tad less electronics on board, but the mesmerizing effect of the "front seat" was and still is always there.
You've captured it in this, and brought back a flood of memories. :o)
TFS and the note too,
Wilt

It's very nice on your part to make us share this beautiful image. This is the perfect meeting between technical and poetry of the sky.
More of a practical point of view, this is probably not an easy image to achieve.
A good job,
Thx for sharing.

Hi David...perfect sharpness and great light. very impressive for a 1/8 shutter speed. You must have steady hands and no turbulence. I used to fly a Duke.....sometimes I miss it but I am happy not to have the bills.

David,
Great shot of the inside of the plane. Your captue shows the technical aspect of flying. It also shows a beautiful view outside the window.

Kevin

Very cool photo! I imagine you get to see some tremendous sunrises and sunsets. I really like all of the electric lights in the cockpit and how they compare to the light on the clouds at in the distance. Very unique shot.

Good effect; how did you manage to keep the camera steady? That's quite a graduation of light in the sky and makes for a very striking image.
It's an early start from Perth! I remember it well! The moon was full in the Southern sky just before sunrise my last time; it quite a sight.
David,
Absolutely incredible. What an incredible office view. I think the 12 mm you shot this with really helped you display most of your office.
I like the tinge of orange lighting or maybe it's just the glow of the instruments but it works well. I think the portrait mode you shot this in was a great choice. With 9/11 and the restrictions since then, we don't get to see this view often anymore. I don't really know how to improve on this image, possibly the co-pilots hands on the yoke but that's another picture all together!
Great shot!

Hi David !
a very cool shot of your 'office'.
Lighting is very good and well managed.
My guess is it's an A340 - I see the co-pilot using the slide-out mini work-top (which was placed there in place of the more traditional flight control yoke - still favoured by Boeing).
On this aircraft (if i am correct), just like it's other more recent Airbus sibllings the fly-by-wire joystick is on the arm rests by the window (your left - and another on your co-pilot's right).
I also see the 4 engine instruments in the display (with the 1234 on the throttles) indicating 4 engines..
Anyway being able to clearly see what i describes above is good proof of the quality of this picture.
:-))
Best regards, Daniel
I don't mind going to an office like that everyday ;) , details and colours are excellent, limited space in the cockpit made it a bit difficult to have a wider view even with a 10mm lens. It was so effective to include you colleague in the shot to further enhance the shot but full view of him would have been much better. You could have taken two shots consecutively with the same settings and join them to have a 'full' view, that way, 'office' details would have been in it as you have indented in this photo too. Thanks David..

Hello David.
Thanks for your comment on my last upload.
Crowdy 'office', it looks. Especially according to the 'space' outside.
Pity, you didn't mention the type of your 'toy'.
Very well captured with the warm indoor light.
Are you carriing the heavy Nikon 200 with you on your flights ?
My South African friend, a Pilot too, is now living in, and flying for Qatar Airlines. Also he takes his camera with him on flights and shows the pictures at Epz (Ephotozine.com) Georg Martens is his name.
I was in the UAE in total for 5 years on different projects (oil and gas constructions) during 1980 / 1990
Good memories on that time.
Best regards from Jan

Hello David,
You are indeed a lucky man to have this be your office. The sunrises, sunsets and evening skies must be a joy to behold.
I have only ever been in the cockpit of a military C-40 (?? I forget exactly--big transport plane)and that was a bit of a shaky bumpy ride!
Great sharpness and lighting in this shot--under not so ideal conditions.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi David,
I am very impress about this POV of your "office" . The vertical composition helps to give a good idea of your work and what you see from your seat . TFS .

Hi DAVID,
Super image from inside of one airplane cabin Pilot. Verry good image of that HI-Tech presentation.
ALL THE BEST & GOOD FLIGHT,
