Close up of decaying old log at Lake Gwelup in Perth's northern suburbs.
As the water table lowers due to surrounding urbanisation, the trees die and fall.
I was going to convert this to black and white but that would have been the obvious thing to do. Instead I will let the natural colours tell the story.

It amaze me to see natural patterns like this one of a trunk of a tree. Excellent texture. Thanks, also, for the workshop.

I love these kind of close up photos, in fact I have something quite similar in my gallery. The cracks in this log give so much movement. The colours, I agree with you to leave it as is, though minimalistic, they work fine. Sharp and nicely composed.
