Suspension bridge at Duck Reach powerstation. One of the original arches from the old bridge manufactured from local 'blustone'. This bridge is located approximately four kilometres from the city centre.

The suspension bridge was washed away by the Great Flood of 1929 and then restored.

The bridge was again washed away in the 1969 floods and rebuilt in 1995 as part of a combined refurbishment project of the Federal Government through its Regional Tourism Development Program, the Launceston City Council, and the Hydro Electric Commission, to celebrate the centenary of the site.

I had a few problems focusing here. There were perhaps twenty large Pacific Islanders walking across the bridge causing it to sway from side to side.

Did you get a shot with the people on the bridge as well David? That would have been a good sight too. Hopefully this bridge won't get washed away with the next flood.
It does look quite solid, and this is a good composition and very interesting. TFS
Janice

Great shot David
No fear of hights? I also checked Johns link and indeed this looks smaller. Maybe he is only pointing outthat the structure is the same (hanging bridges)
Thanks and take care
Rob

Hi David,

Great shot here and a very interesting note, I like the distance from the tower you have used here with the ropes leading the eyes upwards into the picture, great note also. Nice work

Years ago I was in Bristol and in the subburb 'Portishhead' there is an exact copy called:
Clifton suspention bridge. Those two look alike like

Hi David,
Very nice POV for this bridge with lot of perspective. The colours and the sharpness are excellent. I'm sure the view from that bridge is superb. Very well done.

Hi David,

Looks good, very sharp and good colors. Maybe a lower POV would have created an interesting effect?
