[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It looks like the Grand Canyon, at first glance, but it's really only a metre high! This is 'coffee rock', found on the beach in Bundjalung National Park, northern New South Wales.

Coffee rock is a dark brown, sedimentary rock, composed of sand grains compacted together with decomposed plant remains. It is often soft enough to crumble easily, but in other places can be surprisingly hard. The sky can be seen top right.

Hi Chris,
The first thing that came to my mind after seeing this was it looks huge! Then I read your note. Good lesson in scaling!
SUnil

Interpretation being the name of the game, this is interpretation all right and a good one at that. Looks cappuccino-coloured so that's a start and as 'coffee rock' is a believable name - it's a 'runner'. A surprise entry as a mini-landscape but it qualifies. Good thinking, Batman!

Hi Chris,
Thats different coffee but a real nice one
Ruud

Very different! I agree. This one will take lots of water... will not run out soon! Well captured

Excellent idea-Who said it had to be a cup of coffee?
Barry

Very intersting note and very creative image Chris! Indeed a excellent work game.

Landscape is beautiful!

Good work!

take care, Stef :))

Hi Chris
Love your continuity - even in coffee you have managed to put landscape and so interestingly. Really pictures are but expression of your deep liking. Enjoyed it
Mukesh

Well..this one got me alright..till i read your note. Like the angle of this capture. This one stands out.

Aha, someone who thinks outside the square. Good on ya for a lateral approach to the theme. Refreshing...excuse the pun.
Karen

Hi Chris...
Hahahaha, you got me there!
Creative idea, good thinking! Besides, the photograph is interesting in its own right! Well done indeed...
Regards,

Hi Chris,

A nature posting for a coffee challenge???
Very interesting and clever idea!!
I like your shot, as it's so sharp that it's almost visible the texture of the rocks. Nice natural light and warm Earthly colours.
Well done!
Con

Lovely and colorful shot. Interesting rock formation, well seen and captured. Interesting and unusual contribution to the theme!
Vassilis

Hi Chris,

I had to read the text, me still
I don't believe in what wrote, not
seems, more it seems a canyon
enormous and deep, that is fantastic
Congratulations, big visual and creativity.

Yeah! This is another way of taking the challenge - kind-of abstract, as coffee is in the name of the rock and could not be drank... Nice thought.
