Shot outside the Canadian Pavillion, at Expo 88 in Brisbane. I was tempted to clone the blimp at left & crop higher from the bottom. But I like the crowds bottom right adding scale. I think these Indian Carvings are endemic to British Columbia?

Hi Chris,
Very nice capture of this totem with great colrs and excellent sharpness. I would have just cloned the balloon that is a little bit distracting. These totem are a tradition for the natives american. Very well done.

Nice. Looks tribal to me.

Good shot Chris!

Hi Chris,

This photo is so vivid!!! The warm colours and the nice natural lighting makes you think that this totem is going to speak to you. :))
Lovely blue on the sky and sharp details! I also like your POV. Well done and TFS :)
Constantinos

nice shot. like the colors of this totem pole. TFS

Yes, they are endemic to B.C., Chris. Totem poles are part of the culture of the coastal First Nations, particularly the Haida of the Queen Charlotte Islands. There actually are many types of poles -- house poles were set up outside a family home, sort of like a family crest; commemorative poles depicted events and/or legends; funeral poles honored the dead.
You have captured a lovely light on this one that shows it off very nicely.

Hello,Chris! I immediatly recognized that totem from out west Canada! I thought that you had visited the province of BC! Well done! Nice compo! Michel

Very nice capture, vivid colors, nice POV and I agree with you that the people add scale!
Well done!
Vassilis

so vibrant against that beautiful blue sky, thanx, M, (*_*)

The colours are nice and strong on the totem pole, but the people look a bit wishy-washy. But, then it is an old print. I like the point of view.

Hi Chris,

Well done on this capture, and yes, B.C. is full of them.

Mike

Hi chris,

Nice colors and detail!

Malik & Mary.

I like this shot it makes me feel sort of small. The only thing I wish would be different and I am sure was out of your control, is the shadow on the bottom. Very nice shot still though.

I like ALL of it. The totem-pole is so generic of most Native American art across North America, inc Canada, of course. I do like the inclusion of the blimp and the pavilion with the people - so much more 'life' than just a straight shot of the totem-pole itself, on its own, alone, separated.
1988 ... camera stolen?

Well we had a very big one it look like! It's colorfull a lot!

Brillant, vibrant colors. A joy to see. I saw a Worlds fair once in Vancover, Canada. I love these kinds of fairs, filled with life!
