The day had started out a trifle cooler than some we had been having. Later that day my wife and I were in the garden and I happened to glance over our back fence. This is the view we can see and the snow could explain the sudden temperature change.

Ben Lomond, 1,570 m (5,151 feet), is a mountain in the north of Tasmania. It is east of Launceston, and is one of two skiable mountains in Tasmania.
The name is taken from the Scottish mountain of the same name.
The magnificent mountain of Ben Lomond with its imposing and precipitous cliffs is visible over much of the northern midlands of Tasmania. The plateau is roughly 14 kilometres in length, 6 kilometres wide and is in excess of 1300 metres in height. A summit on the plateau named Legges Tor is the second highest point in Tasmania (1572 metres).
Ben Lomond is the main focus of downhill skiing in Tasmania. The skifield on Ben Lomond is Tasmania's only downhill skiing area which offers some of the facilities expected of a contemporary skifield.
The Ben Lomond National Park is invaluable for the conservation of the flora communities and species diversity of Tasmania's alpine areas. The area consists of an outstanding variety of glacial and periglacial features which are considered of national significance.

Hi David,

Now that is a nice view. I like the tilted road in front and the trees contrast nicely against the clouds.

TSF,
Pedro

Hi David,
Very well caught this view against the contrast of the dark trunks of the trees.
Good sharpness and nice colours too.
Very well done.
Salvu.

Hi David.
Love the way you have framed Ben Lomond through the trees.I was going to suggest that you crop some of the foreground but looked again and think that the flat area of grass really highlights the rolling hills leading to Ben Lomond.TFS.
All the best my friend.
Robert

I love the way the mountain 'blends' with the dramatic skies and then that crisp fg, thanx, M, (*_*)

sorry.. out of points...again

Hi David,
I like this kind of images, with two different subjects on different levels... Like here, with the trees and the landscape!
It is difficult to handle this combination, but you do very well here!
Good colours and some fine details, you maintain good clarity on both levels, well done!
Greetings,
Pablo -

One of your 'top views' David.( Why did we Dutch not keep Tasmania for ourselves ^_^ )
Beautifull scenery TFS
John

Hi Dave,

Now that's what I call one fine back fence view!
What a gem of landscape photo! Beautiful colours & razor sharp!

Makes me wonder what the front view has to offer :)

Well done matey
Con

Aren't you lucky! I would love to have a view like this, David!
You seem to be very isolated.

Yes, sometimes the best things can be found right in our own backyards - this is a perfect example of that truism. :)
Gayle

Hi David,
wonderful composition. I like the separation of layers with use of different colour saturations. Verticals of ther trunks strenghten the photo. Wonderful sky. You have great view there. tfs

Hi David.
What beautiful scenery! It is a real postcard from Tassie.
I like line of trees in foreground and well-captured mountains in the background.

Hi David, this is another nice Ben Lomond view, different from the scottish one. Great pot you have here, with the trees enclosing the houses.

The mountain view you have in your backyard is awesome!

You did well with the pp work. And your composition is lovely!

Tfs, take care, Yan :)

Hi David,
Decided to go back and look at some of your older photos, This one really struck me. It is so very beautiful. I love the big trees in front with the mountains in the background.
Almost reminds me of Vermont. TFS
