After my last posting I received several comments about the dismal scene. Tasmanian winters, or to be more specific Launceston winters, are far more pleasant than other parts of Australia where I have lived. The scene depicted is typical of many winter days. Heavy frost, sun breaking through low cloud and again that special Tasmanian early morning light. Once again the St Leonards Picnic ground and the North Esk river.

Nice winter shot David, good colours and light.

Hi.
A fresh start to the day, looks like a touch of frost over the grass. A great scene with the refections from the stream meandering past the baron tree. The water cascading over the rocks in the foreground adds so much here, welldone.

Certainly looks rather cool...
Thanks for sharing.

Hello David.
A lovley photo but puzzling to me.The shot is very sharp yet the buildings and trees on the hill in the background appear almost as though they have been painted in.No criticism-just a puzzle.Great POV and excellent DOF.
I would not clone out the pole.I think it helps focus on the centre of the photo.Yet another of your scenes that I have placed in my favourites.
Kind regards,
Robert

Hi Dave,

The North Esk river has many wonders to show us! And this is no exception! :)
Lovely Earthly colour tones and warm lighting that it doesn't show the usual hard winter days we all know. Nice POV and shaprness!
Well done!

david,
here even though the sky is kind of in a bad mood mood your use of light is excellent. one can truely feel the warmth of the sun. nice composition with light and great dof.

Frost and the early morning light! I wish I could make myself get up early on a winter morning and capture this kind of scene, but I'd rather stay nice and toasty in the bed! :) I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through your early morning pictures, David!

Gayle :)

David this is lovely, only I would have cloned out the light post (my taste)

C. :)

Good colors and sharpnes. You picked the right light to take this shot.

TFS,
Pedro

Nice picture with the water surface so still and mornig dew on the grass and mist envolving the distant levels. I'd observed you like take pictures very early in the morning and I think it's a very good idea because of the special atmosfere lanscape have early in the morning.
Good reflections and compo also.
Regards.

Hi David...
Another wonderful point of view, my friend... The waterfall and the reflection on the water are perfect... Also perfect light, clarity and details, as usual...
TFS...
Stay well..
Salim.

hi David,
splendid composition! I like the surface of the water - you can almost throw a stone in there and watch it splash and form ripples! :)

Regards, Daniel :)

Hi David..
wooww..excellent composition, reflection and colours..
congratulations...
stay well
Deniz
PS: Many thanks for your nice comment on my "Duden Waterfall" photo

Hello David,
It's wonderful shot with beautiful composition & colors. I like it.

Well done
Alex

Nice crisp image with a beautiful lighting David. Excellent POV. I would cut the little rapids in the foreground to concentrate on the rest of this beautiful image. The captured frost, the ocre hill and the twisting river lead our eye to a nice background.
Very well done David.

Réal

Hi David!

I call this a shot to remember! Perfect depth, nice colors, color and geometrically balanced and an amazing view. I particularly notice the calmness of water and then suddenly there is action when it steps down one level, you have beautifully captured it as well. I liked the shot very much!
Congrats and thanks for sharing!:D
Cheers!
