The brigantine Windeward Bound and the Port Authority dredge MiliMili seen at Home Point, Launceston. In the right background is Kings Wharf, home to various rusting hulks as well as being a shipyard.

The Tamar River in northern Tasmania is Australia's longest navigable estuarine river. More than 70 km long, its many sheltered coves and inlets provide sanctuary for thousands of native water birds. Dolphins and seals are regular visitors.

The valley's history is steeped with romance and studded with bushrangers, explorers, gold diggers and events of national and international significance. The river once served the City of Launceston as a major shipping and transport 'highway' and remains central to the lifestyle of more than a quarter of Tasmania's population.

Like a painting. Nice focus on the two areas that are very clear with great reflections and the rest foggy. Amazing photo.

From your Windwarde series, this is the best picture in my opinion. Colours, fog, light, reflections. Very 'impressionist' style.

Enric.

Beautiful seascape. Made me remember some English paintings.
Colours are excelent and also sharpness. Reflections are perfect. but what I more like here is the deepth sensation and the way the fog solves figures in the distance. Leonardo da Vinci called this "aerial perspective".
Excellent!.
Best regards
PD: Thanks for your coments that aim me a lot.

Wow,
Love this one to. The sunlight, the fog, the clarity, the ships.
Fantastic view.
Thank you,

Another wonderful shotDavid! looks like a modern world meet classical age. I wonder if set in longtime exposure in 1-4 sec with small apperture the result will be extraordinary like mirror while the ripple fade off. Thank for sharing this fantastic shot! You deserve more then this! Congrats!

Another excellent, atmospheric photo David! Congrats again!

You have some interestng and varied shots in your gallery David. This thumbnail caught my eye...and it appears I am not alone. You got a lot well deserved points on this one.

I have the Olympus 750 UZ and I am always impressed with what that little camera can do.

he, the same little boat, other angle, but the big boat on the right attract all the attention, no we go from one to the other, these boats are like flying over the water, so light, again.....superb

I like your photo style. You have a good sense of color arrangement.kona

Hi David,
Wonderful misty shot of this habor. The brigantine makes it very interesting. t looks a bit of the battle of the centuries, with a 21st century in the middle and the ancient time a the right so it's a nice contrast captured in one view. You must have guts to do it and you did. Like this approach! TFS
Hans

Excellent point of view David. The colors are so fantastic here and the reflection ureal !

hi, david
fine series, beautiful pictures. as long as no new images of yours, this is quite a pleasure to visit this place again and again. thanks
wish you all the best,

Hi David,

You should put the horizon either in the top third or lower third of the image. Have you checked the rule of thirds?
No I am just kidding, :D. Reflection in the fog with soft colors. The symmetry in the horizon balanced by the asymmetry of the two reflections of unequal hight, I like it.

TFS,
Pedro
