Yes, this is taken in Australlia

Costas, I thought of you, and said "Hello to Melbourne" from you!

I’m back! Not sure if I was missed, but my daughter and I have been in Australia on holiday. We stayed in Melbourne and had a wonderful time together. What did we do? Well we shopped! We ate out! We also did a bit of sightseeing, and we visited friends.

I took a few photos, and you might get to see some of them over the next few weeks. I’ll try and vary them as I go along!

Yarra Valley Wineries. . .

Last Saturday we did a special coach trip up the Yarra Valley, an hour’s drive from Melbourne. The Yarra Valley is famous for its wine, fresh food and breathtaking scenery.

Yarra Valley is where Victorian winegrowing started, and is now home to over 55 wineries, most of which have cellar door tastings and sales. Many are as serious about food as they are about their harvest, matching the wine they make with local produce in restaurants located in beautiful vineyards.

St. Hubert's Vineyards

This is St. Hubert's Vineyard and it has a fascinating history in the Yarra Valley from the 1830's to today as it has played a significant role in Victorian winemaking.

I liked the view from here, especially how the sun is shining on the hill of vines in the distance, and the clouds are shading the grass and lake. The vines are all bare, no leaves on them at all. But in a few weeks the new growth should start to appear. We noticed some of the vines were still waiting to be pruned.

I know the clouds look stormy, and the weather forecast was promising us hail storms, but we had a wonderful fine day, with even blue skies, and these storm clouds looking great from afar!

Hi Janice,
How are you? Enjoying shopping, sight seeing and dinning in Australia. Youhave got all the elements in your shot. The yellow fields provide a intesting perspective. From green to blue this is a beautiful panorama.
Best Regards,

Hi Janice,

I was wondering when you will pop up and show us a glympse of Melbourne in this case , the famous Yarra Valley Vinyards! You just can't beat that typical Victorian/Melbourne weather! Those dramatic clouds are still ever so dominating!
Great moody lighting & POV.

Well seen & composed!
Constantinos (thanks for remembering me!) (*_-)

Hi Janice,

Nice to see you back here with us and to hear you had a great time in Australia.

I love this beautiful picture you brought back for us too. We seem to travel through a dull patch here then on into the sunshine and are then faced with a really dramatic looking sky.

Beautiful shot! Well done.

John

Welcome back Janice. This one brings back some memories for me. In my various jaunts between Canberra and Adelaide or Canberra and Perth we drove different routes each time. I passed through this area a few times. Good colour and light and the clouds addding to the overall effect. TFS,

Hello Janice,
Beautiful colors of the landscape and clouds.Congratulations.
Eva

Hello Janice,
THats a nice one. I just thought how it would look like without the leafless branches becuse they disturb the beautifull patterns of clouds. Anyway- well done. TFS Thomas.

Hi Janice ,
Beautiful shot,
great colors, framing and composition.
Well done
Greetings

Hi Janice,
Welcome home! Looking forward to sharing your Australian photos. This is a dramatic scene with it's stormy clouds and sunlit field. Beautifully framed too with the tree branches. Excellent interest in the foreground, middle and background.
Well done !
Cheers,
Pat.

Very nicely done, Janice. I like your composition in layers and the light on the field in the middle of the picture creating some very different zones in your picture. The sky is quite threatening as well. Excellent!

Great exposure Janice. Razor sharp details too.
Well done. Regards, Daniel

This is a really good composition. I like the tree branches framing the top portion. What a lovely view of the vineyard. Very good sharp image. Well done Janice.

Hi Janice,
For many years when I used to go to school :-) I used to answer that my dream country was Australia, I find it fascinating a whole country with one people with many races and of course the natural beauty and I was right then and you took this shot with perfection,
