A view of the Cataract Gorge looking up the South Esk River. If you look carefully you can see one of the rest stops along the bridge to cataract walk, a small building just to the right of centre. Although it does not seem very high at this point the walkway would be in the vicinity of 30 metres above the level of the river. In the workshop is another plaque set in the cliff walls.

The Cataract Gorge Reserve abounds with walking trails and lookouts which fully explore the beauty of the area. The most spectacular way to enter the reserve is on the Kings Bridge-Cataract Walk, a path which clings to the Cliff face of the Gorge. It was built in the 1890's for the benefit of Launceston's citizens and visitors and was the city's most popular promenade in Victorian times. The path offers excellent views of the dolerite columns along the cliffs and during winter the drama of the furious floods is an exciting spectacle.

Hi David
I want to Tasmania. So nicely you are demonstrating and you are describing places which you visited.
Your sentences also appeal to me.

Very natural Australian colours. That's what I noticed in OZ, the colours are not as green as NZ, and the colour brown shows out more, especially in the gum trees.
Super scene David overlooking the river and seeing it disappear around the corner. Good job,
Janice

The faint haze may be my imagination but to me Aussie bush shots are phoney without it because they really do look that way so I love this, thank you, now I can see a bit more without leaving home.

Winter colors of the Cataract Gorge are giving this landscapes a very pleasant atmosphere. We can see the sun is pretty low with this yellow predominance.
I love the way you composed your image . Great POV, bringing the shore line at the bottom left corner.

Days here are starting to get cooler....
