Kimi Raikkonen in his Ferrari. Raikkonen is favourite to win the 2007 F1 Drivers Championship.

"Formula One, abbreviated to F1, and also known as Grand Prix racing, is the highest class of auto racing defined by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), motor sport's world governing body. The "formula" in the name is a set of rules which all participants and cars must meet. The F1 world championship season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix, held usually on purpose-built circuits, and in a few cases on closed city streets. The results of each race are combined to determine two annual World Championships, one for drivers and one for constructors."

I think this is my favourite of the images I took over the weekend. Fiddled with contrast and grightness to get this look.

Shot in RAW, cropped, resized, framed, contrast and brightness adjusted.

Hi Richard, nice pov, good colours and comp. :)

How on earth did you get close enough for a shot like this? Even with a good lens I thought you had to be accredited to get anything like this. I love it - and with Schumi gone I think I am backing Kimi this year (once a Ferrari fan always...)

Hi Richard,
WOW what a shot, what more can I say it's great.
I agree with hojper re backing Kimi now Schumi has gone.
A big TFS Andy

Richard,
Absolutely first class. It could go into any racing magazine published. I love the tilt and the focus. This photo alone propels you into the uppper class on TL. Your other shot have been VERY good but this has to be one of my favs! I will mark it as such.
Very well done and nice job with the notes.
Scott

Hello Richard!

Great to see you attended at the GP in Melbourne . I am looking forward discovering your next posts (^_^). I am anxious to go in Montreal in June for our GP. This year I will go with EOSF1 , our friendly member Mario Belanger .

Lovely close-up of Kimi ( my pick in my pool LOL !) Go Kimi !!!

Cheers!
Robert

PS. I added yours in my favorite racing shots ( you will see a few of Mario there too ).

Very eyecatching..

Nice shot Richard Excellent color saturation! I like the tilt here! So different from your usual side shots! Looks like a tight fit for him!

Hi Richard. Brillian colours and close-up view make this exciting to see. You are getting to know your camera settings and it is fun to see evolution of your contributions. TFS. Murray.

Got to tell you, I've looked through this whole F1 series and am equal parts impressed and jealous.
Impressed by the work you did here, the shots are fantastic; technically perfect to my eye and pleasing as well--a good balance to be sure. ;)
Jealous because I'm a big fan of F1, any type of motor racing actually, even lawn mowers, and last season's F1 was stellar, yet I've never been to an F1 race. (parenthetically, my son, Daughter-in-law, and two grandkids, just moved to Melbourne this past January, so maybe next year for me and the Melbourne GP).
Anyway, great collection of shots, information and dialog. Thanks for Sharing.
Wilt
