Blue Mackerel
Scomber australasicus Cuvier

The Blue Mackerel has a fusiform body with two widely separated dorsal fins. Both the second dorsal fin and anal fin are followed by five to six finlets. The eyes have adipose eyelids that leave a vertical slit over the pupils.

The Blue Mackerel is bluish to greenish above and pale below. It has dark bars on the upper sides and spots below. Young fish have a dark pattern of reticulations on the upper sides that become less distinct as the fish ages.

This species grows to 65cm in length.

It is a schooling pelagic species that occurs in tropical and temperate marine waters of the Pacific.

In Australia it is known from marine waters around the entire country but is more common in cooler waters.

Büyük Okyanus'un, Kızıldeniz'in, Arap Yarımadası'nın ve diğer denizlerin sıcak ve ılıman sularında bulunur. Genelde 200 metre derinlikte yaşar. 30-55 cm uzunluğa ve 1 kilodan fazla ağırlığa ulaşabilir. Ve bu ölçüleri ile uskumrugiller familyasının en küçük balıklarından biridir. Mavi uskumru yumuşakçalar, kabuklular ve küçük balıklar ile beslenir.

Hi Alaettin,

I didn't know this fish, in spite of being only seen for the I pacify, but didn't know about him. A good class today. I see that you also like of using our good pp.
Effective lighting with good texture.
sells the two works, they are good and different, I think it is going of the taste in the first.
Beautiful work and interesting visual.

umm... it look like it is sitting in the oven for cooking with the oven lighting... hehehehe... (kidding)

I like the pp work, look more like a painting then a photograph, then again, it also look like negative film but with Orange filter over it, great work I'll said!! Excellent textures and details, great artwork! :D Happy Easter and thanks for sharing
