Lewis Hamilton, Rookie F1 driver.

Hamilton has finished on the podium in his first three F1 races - something no rookie has ever done before. At the age of 22, Hamilton sits joint top of the Drivers Standings of the new F1 season. Pundits are already tipping him for greatness and he is bringing a fresh excitement to the sport following the retiral of Michael Schumacher at the end of last season.

This is a part of my Melbourne Grand Prix 2007 theme.

A wee bit of F1 trivia...

"In 2003, F1 Magazine produced, what they called "the most comprehensive, definitive and accurate guide to F1 costs ever published." The total spending costs of all 10 teams was estimated at $2,141,100,000. This was broken down as follows: Ferrari - $443,800,000; Williams - $353,300,000; McLaren - $304,600,000; Toyota - $290,400,000; BAR - $225,100,000; Renault - $206,800,000; Suaber - $119,500,000; Jordan - $ 79,200,000; Jaguar - $ 78,800,000; Minardi - $ 39,600,000"

Hi Richard.

When this F1 season started,I knew people would ask me if I was related to Lewis Hamilton.Mainly because my surname is Hamilton,he doesn't look that dissimilar to myself, and he grew up a couple of towns from me.But,as far as I know,I am in no way related to him,as cool as that would be.

As for the photo,I like it-the high POV is interesting (I assume you were in the stands)and the clarity is good.

Thanks for the note too,it was very interesting.

TFS,Aqueous.

Hi Richard,
Another great shot from you here, and young Lewis is doing well for a rookie, my problem now that MS has left is who to shout for, I am still a Ferrari fan but now that Lewis is in F1 I shout for him too, maybe he could get a seat for the reds!!
Anyway as I said great shot with perfect colours and sharpness.
Tfs Andy

Hi Richard,
Boy you are a lucky fellah! So close to the gladiators of the modern F1-colosseum :) Perfect shot of the man in its cockpit, great vivid colours no OE or whatsoever ;) Please send more!
Hans

Hi Richard,

That's him! Yellow helmet. The future F1 racer! You took it perfectly clear and sharp. I like the angle and composition. Did you take it from paddock?

Tfs,
Tjutjut

Hi Richard, Very good clarity in this sports photo. Cropped in a way to make it original and interesting showing how squeezed into those formula one the drivers really are. Excellent clarity and colours. One of a good series. Murray.

Hello Richard !

Better later than never. Just realized I missed this one. Normal as we were in Cuba enjoying a two week TL break (^_^).

Lewis Hamilton, is indeed the biggest surprise of the year in F1. You had a very priviledged POV my friend! A bit narrow DOF, but normal when you are zooming like this.

Well done!
Robert

Great tight framing to reveal his ''office''. Crystal clear , and very
