A part of my Melbourne F1 2007 theme.

""Derring-do" turns out to have an interesting history. It was a challenge to find, but the OED lists it as a "pseudo archaism" which originated with Chaucer, was misunderstood by Lydgate, picked up but misprinted by Spenser, and then taken up by Sir Walter Scott, and it's been "derring-do" ever since. The series of errors and misunderstandings have created a word meaning "reckless courage." "

Although I would say nothing reckless about these pilots - highly skilled, highly trained and very brave. Shows like these are seen around the globe and I fail to see how any spectator could not be impressed by what they see.

Annoyingly, the prop of the guy bottom right is out of synch with the others...more practice required! :-)

Really nice formation here Richard! Mr GreenBaron also has some nice shots of planes the last few days! These are nice and sharp! Excellent comp!

Hi Richard,
Probably your canon shutter is out of synch, not his prop ;-)
Perfect Aerobatic shot, nice and colourful. Those F1 racings are boring, compared with an Air Show :-)
Hans

Neat shot Richard!

I wonder if a panning job here , and a slower shutter speed would have been successful in getting props some movement without blurring the planes themselves.

Great formation and composition (^_*)
Cheers!
Robert

Hi Richard,

You are the expert capturing fast moving objects. This is an excellent image. Very well composed. Do you have landscape/panorama format? I can use it for wallpaper notebook.

Well done my Cuzzy...

One has to be quick to capture this type of photo, so good work...You clicked just at the right time. The red and white looks good against the blue sky.

Cheers
Dawn.

Hi Richard, great capture, razor sharp and well displayed in the comp.

Take care, Yan :)

"Odd man out!" eh!

Isn't that a perfect theme! I feel on this day, which in my country is dedicated to "National Aboriginal Day"
that this would be a perfect post for June 21st!

The shot also reminds me of the "Snowbirds", the flying team in CANADA...

< Sadly a recent accident , just one month ago cost another life...> "Prop out of synch?"

The best in the series line from the smoke and strong shape of the delta at a bank.
