[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo is from Australia’s famous 'Red Centre'. You can see one of the dome-shaped monoliths of Kata Tjuta (or The Olgas), a spectacular group of 36 monoliths near Australia’s most famous one, Uluru (Ayers Rock). It was taken close to the ‘Valley of the Winds’. Soil and rock are indeed as red as you can see here (no colour editing).

Kata Tjuta is sacred to the local Aborigines, the Anangu, and means ‘many heads’. The Anangu are the traditional owners of this land. As a visitor you should keep to the designated walking paths thus showing respect for the Aborigines and their culture.

Tech talk: Re-sized and framed. However, the colour intensity is VERY different between screens: it looks perfect on an LCD display, and a bit yellowish on a traditional one.

This is my return photo to TL, after leaving Bangkok three months ago and travelling before finally settling back into our home in Canberra two weeks ago.

Thank you for visiting and have a good weekend everyone!

Such a fantastic view which is providing a natural contrast of hues. Beautiful mixture of extreme tones. Point of view and axes of shooting is marvellous. Well done Cordelia.

Welcome back,Cordelia.I am impressed here by the beautiful color contrast.I love the shape too.Makes me think of a Bottero big character sleeping on the ground.Spectacular! Tfs,
Michel

hi there, great sense of being there, hot i imagine, great composition, point of view and color saturation, awesome image
thanks scott

Hi Cordelia, it's an awesome shot of those rocks. I've seen them before but you really made them 'jump out.' TFS. Bit of noise in the blue but nothing serious. A quick run through NeatImage would fix it.

Ho Cordelia, I agree with Gary re the noise but an excellent image regardless. I fine example of the 'Red Heart' of Australia. Colours which are so inland in many parts of Australia too. Nicely composed and good tones. TFS,
David

You are back with a real Aussie outback shot Cordelia.. your choice of low point of view is excellent, I believe, the noise other members refer to is just the pp went wrong! under these light conditions, even FZ30 would not produce any noise ;) thanks..

Very nice, Cordelia...the intense red is wonderful and the polarizer has brought out the blue sky very effectively. The wispy grass in the foreground adds perspective to the whole pic and breaks up the image very nicely.

Good shot!

Hello Cordelia !

Three months away . You will have thousands of photos to play with (^_^) and share !

Welcome back home ! We are looking forward discovering your souvenirs. Despite the FG seem a bit overexposed, the sky is perfect.

I wonder if a bit luminosity would make it better. Maybe it is only my screen..
Cheers!
Robert

Hi!
nice picture with good colors that make a great contrast!I like the amazing blue sky........good fg and good sharpening.tfs

Is this the famous rock you have?
The dark blue and red is working well.
Are the Aborigines still afraid of this place?

Bonsoir Cordelia,
C'est ce à quoi je pensais en vous envoyant mon message. Des couleurs fortes, un ciel profond, et une végétation qui se bat contre le soleil. And besides that, you show it on a beautiful equilibrated coposition. Heaven!
