[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This small 'train' is painted to look like Thomas the Tank engine. Powered by a Morris Minor engine it carries kids of all ages on a circuit of King's Park.

In the background can be seen part of Albert Hall which was built to house the Tasmanian International Exhibition 1891-92 and was paid for entirely by the Launceston City Council at a total cost of £12,224.
The foundation stone was laid on April 2 1890, and the completed building, including temporary annexes, was ready for the opening twenty months later.

PP Work...levelled, colour fade correction 20, slight crop, added border and resized.

What a lovely place David! wow... I really love those trees!!! So... is the weather finally getting a bit better there?? Almost summer now I think.
We're getting near winter now here. Frost and even a little snow in the south of Holland....
In a way I like this weather, but... I already long for the sun again...

Cheers,
Anneke

I think you have just hit on a new topic to show us, the old architecture of Tassie, looks interesting and well preserved too. The train is cute, a nice change from the usual 'Puffing Billy' type. TFS

Hi David,
A very pleasant scene and well captured, I like the sunlight on the tree highlighting the different shades of bark,
cheers
Jack

Hello David:
Well chosen pov, wonderful colors, contrasts and relaxing mood. The shot reminds me of a similar scene (train and all) in Schonbrunn Garden in Vienna (going there again next summer).
Cheers
Otto
PS - Love the note about total cost: for that kind of money, you couldn't even get your driveway paved these days...lol.......

Hello David,

I just love this natural framework of trees and shadows! You have created an engaging 'spyhole' through which we are duty bound to 'peep'!

Superb views of architecture, vehicles, water and, the icing on the cake, children investigating the pond!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Beautiful shot David, I do like the framing created by the large branch and mirrored by the stone wall.
The blue theme would be suitable for Helkoryo's Freaky Friday series.
Cheers,
Pete.

Nice composition David. By the quote the train in your picture is not there or is it not blue?
Regards,

Hello David, there are lovely textures here with the different varieties of tree and that lovely bark which is highlighted by the sun.
And then the delightful little blue train which completes the scene for me.
This looks a lovely place for a stroll.

Hi David

I've never been to Lonnie, so thanks for uploading. Good depth, layering & framing, with the tree at left. Excellent sharpness, & attractive, muted colours. Tfs!

Hello David

well what a truly delightful image, absolutely lovely POV with excellent sharpness and details. the little blue train shows up perfectly and I love the use of the trees for natural framing. Perfect lighting makes this a 10/10 in my book (although I have never written one and not likely too, its a fab shot)

TFs regards Helen

P.S. I added it to the theme for you. If you want to add an image you need to open it to view it and them on the left hand side of the screen you will find the option to add it to a theme.

Nice colors and exposure. Wow, it is quite shocking for me to see that it is not always misty in Tasmania! :)

Hi David
We have here in Serbia a real blue train and theyis still in use...that was train from our ex-president Tito..
Good shot David
Cheers,Braca

Hello David,
Quite appropriate for the Friday theme. The majestic tree and its branch nicely provide an anchor to the King's Park. A good one. Regards, Danilo

So this is your house eh?? Very nice Bubba Joe! Do you ride your train to work?? That must be fun! Nice little pond in the front! Excellent way to move up in the world Bubba!

Hi David - nice one for the theme, the wee splash of blue stands out nicely and the tree makes a nice natural frame for the bulk of the scene. If i'm being ultra picky, possibly a crop from the bottom and right may have worked. Dunno, can't try it cos i'm on a PC in an airport.

But still a very pleasant scene, reminds me of somewhere like Oxford, which is no bad thing.

Hi Dave
A great every day life of this place! I really like the POV and the rich colours! The train add life to your composition giving us at the same time an idea of how life and people are there.
TFS
John

Hi David, this has a romantic touch with the trees.
And the kids seem to be watching the blue train go bye.
Nice and colourful.
Well composed.

Take care, Yan :)
ps: many thx for the crit on "Autumn, MacKenzie-King Estate".

Hello David,
It looks so nice and warm! Love the BLUE train... very nice addition...

Tricia....

PS... We have heard here that your Santa's can no longer say "HO HO HO" very sad!

Hello David,
Strong framing of this view to the classical architecture of Albert Hall!
Good light gives great clarity in colours, and I notice the fresh green telling the story of spring...
Greetings,

Hi David,
Excellent clear and sharp colors, and nice framing with the old tree. I also like the designs on the trunk made by the bark and shadows, and the different textures in the pine needles, willow leaves, and soft grass. And all that is before getting to the bright blue train!
My week off has gotten me behind; I see you have been busy . . .
All the best,
Karen

Hi David,
Very nice photo and great POV, using the pine as a natural frame on left and the top. Rich colors, saturated the best way (not too much, not too few). Stunning shot. Tfs.
Have a nice weekend, cheerz from Hungary, László

Hi David, This is a new view of this very English looking city in Tassie. I like the way you have used the tree and its branches to frame the key subject. Good to see. TFS. Murray.

Hello David
I would have try to layer in the footpath of this gorgeous pastoral scenery the picture of a woman wearing a long dress, a large hat and holding a white parasol!
Magnificent view so well framed by the old tree.
Au revoir.
