Blue Sky of Spiders

For Helen's 'Blue' Friday Theme

On Norfolk Island we found quite a few communities of Spiders living together, covering many metres of area over and under the trees.

Yes, quite scary, but very interesting to see them there. The spiders were quite formidable enough in appearance, but are harmless. Not that I touched one - I made sure I was safely out of reach of them and their webs!!!

Note the small insects that have been caught in these webs - they look like small flies or sandflies, I think.

Check out some close-ups of some of the larger spiders
here AND HERE

Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey.
Along came a spider,
Who sat down beside her,
And frightened Miss Muffet away!

See this wall of spiders in the Workshop. The photo covers only a very small area.

Hi Janice

Wow Janice
Do your spiders catch birds now?
Whats next: Humans?
Strange to live on the South part of our Globe;
Everything seems up side down (*__*)
But after this teasing you dear Janince, it is a well constructed photo. Unusual and !Good!

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Blue Train’. Earlish in the morning that one, I had just been off having an ultrasound on my carotid arteries and was wandering back into the city.
