[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This fellow was basking in a pond that looked like green pea soup.
Taken last year in a crocodile farm near Port Douglas - a very interesting place. They had about 3000 crocodiles at various ages in the farm - everything on the crocodile is used i.e. Gucci handbags, belts, steaks, we even had a croc curry one night.

I was concerned to learn that these beasties often swim down estuaries and attack people on the beach.

Jack,

Great shot - these animals have the art of camoflage down to a tee. I visited that same farm, and stood gazing into water for corcs, until I relaised one was just below me (inside the fence!) looking up at me!

...tim

freaky!
love the shot, love the colour... wow.
Oh, I guess this is a freshwater croc... so quite small? (ie under 1m?)... still, wouldn't be happy swimming if this fella came along!
Thank you!

Wow, the colors are amazing. I love the clarity in his eye.

Great shot

Hello Jack!

Scary look well captured. The photo could be a bit sharper for optimal result in my humble opinion. Still I like a lot the way you composed your image.
Well done!

Not used to seeing photos of you under OZ.
What a pic this is. He looks so harmless - actually I thought it must be a frog at first. His green carpet covers him so seductively!!!
Good shot

Well done Jack,
This is such an unusual shot of a croc. Quite scarey, you could imagine him gliding silently up behind you, you would never know what hit you.
I'm quite pleased they don't frequent our waterways.
Cheers,
Pete.

Hello Jack!
Fantastic capture!
Crocodile in green!!! Lovely done!
Best regards!
Lili

...I return... :)

Ha! This is a great croc-shot, Jack. I haven't seen one as unusual as this before and I love that pea soup analogy. The image looks so peaceful but underlying the calm that eye contains a lot of menace. Very unusual, very effective.

Wow! Great job on the saturation. Very EYE catching. Awesome sharpness, off-centered compo, note, and lighting.
Well done Jack!
Thanks for sharing,
Leanne

Great shot....kind of scary how they can hide like that though!
