I guess, you found the title of the bowl of fruit a bit strange.. let me explain the thought behind it.
As an ordinary human being, it is hard not to judge what we see straight away and value the good looking.
Fruits in this bowl were not pre-selected for this photo shoot or arranged in any way apart from being placed on a black background. As you can see, they have bruises and bad spots on them but that alone would not make them bad, would it? I think, what really matters is their taste on the inside! In short, my kids did not eat them for a while and they started to go off so I decided to take photo of them the way they are, without prejudice.. this is the result..
Don't judge a book by its cover..

Prejudice: 1) preconceived judgment or opinion 2) an adverse opinion or leaning formed without just grounds or before sufficient knowledge b: an instance of such judgment or opinion c: an irrational attitude of hostility directed against an individual, a group, a race, or their supposed characteristics

Hello Alaettin! Amazing still life. Amazing colors. Original capture. Very original picture. Well done!

Hi Alaettin

Impressive bowl of fruit making this a fine composition. The contrast of colours in the fruit with the blue bowl is very appealing.

Sharp details and good colour saturation also make this a nice photo. Well done!

TFS, Martyn

Nice high contrast colour, saturation, and set up...Now...During my years in College while doing food shot, everybody was looking for the perfect fruit...i would had probably get a mediocre note using bad judgement while choosing thoses fruits....well that was the old days, and the old way,,,,love the cut and spot on thoses ones, nice contrasting bowl, that blue with those yellow, those magenta...., those fruits look real, they look ripe, and they look delicious, so is the picture.

You make big jumps in phantasy but you are right; it is the inside that counts; it is so hard to handle this in normal life. Our eyes and nose judge immediate.
Good seen; good interpretated and thanks for the appropiate link!

What a declious shot (I mean the mango...hehehehe), I love the colours here, very original and very real... No.. the bruises is ok...:D especially with the banana... we can make banana cake with it in a day or two... mango? nah, no problem!!! Pear? ummm... it look like you are suppose to eat it right now and don't wait! Unless you like those soft one...:P I like it, very real life shot!

Cheers,
Sweety

Merhaba Alaettin abi.

Excellent crop full of sun, I liked.

Congratulations, Alaettin, on your simple idea of presenting something ordinary and beyond the use-by look! I think it would have taken some courage to do this. You actually make us see the beauty in these neglected fruit. The presentation in a blue (looking) glass bowl against the black BG is most effective. Good job indeed! - Cordelia :))

Hi Alaettin,
The fruit looks perfectly alright to me, I prefer it when they get sweeter with age.
The blue glass bowl is the ideal compliment to the colours of the fruit.
Well done, TFS.
Pete.

Hi Alaettin,

the thumbnail of this photo caught my attention due to the title.
Well... to me prejudice is knowledge/information that I take for true/granted/real without considering/noticing that it's based on foreign experience. The bad aspect of it is that it often prevents experiences that may lead to conclusions that replace the prejudice with own percepetion, experience and judgement.
As soon as we've got the chance to experience something/someone our own perception and judgement may either contradict or support the prejudice...

About your photo: the subject is very appetizing. The warm red cast even increases the impression of the mellow fruits... but my eyes tell me it's a bit too much. To show you what I mean, I'll upload a workshop tomorrow... and a second one with my current favorite effect.

Thank you for sharing your photos and thoughts.
Best wishes,
Attila
