I looking over a small pond where a family of geese had taken up residence. When I took this shot I thought nothing of it, when I saw it on screen I was quite surprised by the colour and texture of the water. It always amazes me what the eye doesn't see.

Hi Peter

Very nice shot.
Good focus and lighting, nice reflection.
I posted a very similar shot of a swan and like you was surprised with the ripples, colours in the water.

Regards Derek

Nice light and reflection ! well done !
Jean

Hello Peter.

The shot looks v.good. The solid white color of the bird against the excellent texture generated by the water has given a very nice effect.
The light is also v.good

Cheers...

Hi Peter,
The shots that turn out great by accident are always the most satisfying! You seem to either have a lot of patience or a lot of luck (or both) with animals! This one is well composed, the goose's posture looks great. I agree with you, the water looks amazing. I wanted to see what the water looked like in black and white so I did a little workshop, hope you don't mind.

Hi Peter,
Good composition but the water effect is quite stunning - looks like liquid mercury
Cheers

Hi Pete, I like the reflections and colours of the water here. Well composed image and the reflection of goose's head fits in perfectly.
BRAVO!

Powerful instrument creats powerful shot, here I can feel the water and the geese, but to me it looks a bit tilt to the right may other viewers verify me, TFS.

Hi Peter,
Wonderful capture with very good DOF and marvellous texture, patterns and colors on the water surface.

Lurdes
