Campfire under the Milky Way. This was my second attempt, 412 sec. My third try was going to be 10 minutes but the battery ran out.
Showed up a few dead pixels which I hid. |

Hey Nico,
I'm jealous of those dark skies. Great image of the
local milky way, and nicely framed with the trees in the foreground.
Love the way the stars portray the rotation of the earth.
Have you tried stacking lots of smaller exposures ? (less than 30sec) Saves having to buy a driven mount.

Hi Nico,
This really is an eye catching photo. It's amazing what the sky reveals when it's clear enough! I don't know if you thought about this in advance, but where you have positioned due south in the picture really adds to it, as it's all rotating around a point within the photo. The colors are great. Only the slight red patch in the bottom left hand corner next to the tree is distracting, but I don't think it matters too much. Great Photo!
