My submission for Helen’s weekly theme is a subject seen recently in the ‘Natural Abstract’ theme; it may appear to be the same photo but was in fact taken after that one. For this photo I was using the normal macro setting on my camera and the close-up +2 filter.

Other images I have presented of the Pelargonium seeds can be seen in my macro theme, the flower of the plant these seeds were on can be seen here.

Manuj asked for the original so here it is in the workshop

Very effective shot. I really like the depth, or lack thereof actually, and the great sharpness of the core part of the image.
Black and white is a very good choice to show off and focus the eyes on the twist.
Good job!!
Thanks,
Wilt

Hello David, there is a lovely light which has highlighted beautifully the fibres of this seedhead.A natural 'twist', a fabulous idea for the theme.

I just popped into your Macro theme, some wonderful shots, which I will look at more closely later.

Tfs, regards Jean.

Good one David - it is an attractive seed. And I like how you have desaturated it too.
It is very sharp and clear - a good macro.

hello David,

if you did not mentioned it i thought it was the same photo as your previous one :)

remind of bottle brush.. well capture and change it in black and white.. love the twisted seeds.. good job..

regards, terry

It's just wonderful David,

The clarity, the light, the velvet textures and to make it even more artistic the B&W conversion.
Love it!
Only one thing I would have done different - I would leave out the text, or use a drop shadow frame after the button frame en put the text in there. Can not show you because I used up all my WS for the day.

Hi David,
This is simply stunning.
I was always led to believe that close-up filters were 'rubbish', and you had to have a dedicated macro lens.
You have shot that clean out of the water.
The fine detail is just amazing, well done.
Pete.

Hello David
Great capture. Fantastic detail and movement, an excelent light and a great compo. A photo full of mood and charm.
Very beautiful work. Congrats.
My regards, mb

Awww!! This is PERFECT! So cool, and the BW keeps the focus on the twist, instead of the color! Really nice macro David! You must have looked high and low for that n'

Hello David
First time I see such "active"-looking seeds because of thier twisted tails: They appear as spermatozoids ready to implant themselves!
Low contrast and soft toning bring out all the subtle shapes
of future new life!
G'day.
Robert

Hallo David,
ein guter Beitrag zu dem Freitagsthema. Sehr schöne Nahaufnahme mit einer tollen Schärfe. Well done!

Gruß,
Chris

Hello David,

This is a beauty!
And the choice for B&W was well made. The silky irridescence of the hairs is really pronounced!
The seed heads look like spears ready for flight! Even the seed are dangerous impliments down there!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Many thanks for your warm comments on 'Twisted snake-like branches'
