A visit to my doctor gave me the opportunity to wander in City Park while I waited for my appointment time. City Park is the largest of some 100 parks scattered throughout the city of Launceston and home of all my dahlia shots.

Beautiful shot, David,
The road (walkway?) leads in very well, (I like the way it comes in from the left corner), the colors are so nice and clear and perfectly saturated and I love those long shadows. Excellent contrast and detail, too. Great job!! Many thanks and kindest wishes,
Shelly
(I'm such a daff... I couldn't figure out how it looked so much like fall when it was taken in May until I looked more closely and you are in Australia..LOL)

Hello David! Amazing colors. Beautiful lightness. Nice landscape. Good POV and capture. Original picture. Well done!

Very pretty scene Dave. I like how the lighting in autumn and winter gives the long shadows to the trees. And there still looks there's a like a lot of leaves waiting to fall.
I noticed yesterday that the deciduous trees in Auckland are very late dropping their leaves this year - it might have something to do with the hot dry summer we had.
Thank you for sharing - it does look a welcoming place to visit
Janice

Beautiful park.
Excellent capture. Good lead with the pathway.
Excellent sharpness and details even with that type of compression ratio. I usually don't go over 15.

Hi David,
Very nice POV on this park! The perspective is well rendered!
Excellent use of light and shadows. A view which points out a colorful season! Here the spring greens are very luminous!
Very well done! Annie

A lovely Autumn day at the park surrounded by warm colours, diagonally placed footpath provides an excellent depth. thanks David

Hi David,

This looks like one well-kept park - I see a leaf blower being used, what good would that do here? But indeed if you want to keep the grass in good condition some leaves have to be removed.
A lovely relaxed place, I would prefer to go for a walk here after visiting the docter....

It's so weird that is fall there and summer here; we speak with, and see, my son, daughter in law and grandkids, about every week via Skype with video and we each remind the other of the opposites of climate.
Nice work here, tfs,
Wilt

A very beautiful quote to go with this, so true! I would love to spend time in this park, especially during that season. The trees and pathways are really pretty. TFS and have a great day!

Nice one David, the path literally leads the eye through the park to the far distance.
The trees don't appear to be very large...until you see the couple with the pushchair.
We have had a stunning autumn here too, must be as a result of our long hot summer.
Cheers,
Pete.

Hi David, I hope you are well. This is a very nice image of the park, nice winding path. Well done on the straightening of the lamposts.
Nice autumn colours.

Cheers, Yan :)

I like the silence that emanates from your picture. It seems you can hear the leaves turn.

Hi David, This is a beautiful park captured on a lovely autumn day. Looks like the walkway is adequately maintained for joggers and walkers to exercise. Tech details are good. Thanks for the warm welcome from my another mini comeback. Best wishes to you and your loved ones. Danilo

Hello David
The diagonal line of path is much atractive because it's cut by long shadows, as a result it prompts for a walk in the early-morning scenery for a breath of fresh air!
The lace of nuded trees juxtaposed to sky is quite evocative of seasonal scents.
G'day.
Robert

The autumn colors come out nicely, the road leads the eye into the image. The only remark is that the horizon is too much in the centre, you see the rule is that you should put the horizon either in the upper or lower third of the frame :)).

TFS,
Pedro

Great use of the sidelight effect! The path and the shadows give good perspective too!I like the leisurely and carefree mood you captured! If I can walk slowly around the Park and take some pictures; it must be a big fun : )

hi David
beautiful shot.
great colours and composition.
with result like this one who need a dslr?
thanks for your nice comment on
"friendship".
best regards

hello David,

A beautiful and serene shot.
The meandering path creates a leisurely lead-in line which is accentuated by the long shadows, the quietness, the drooping lamps. Everything says slow, quiet, in your own time .... Very relaxed.

I hope the doctor had positive news.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

hi David

Looks like early winter and it is quiet in the park. Nice sharpness and composition of the footpath.

Such a keen photographer! Camera on your way to doctor, but I suppose C760Uz is small/light enough to tag along. And a walk in the park, photography will take your mind off things and relax better.

tfs, bill

Hello David,

The walkway makes a fine diagonal in the composition!
Indeed, autumn is very much evident in the colours here, and I notice the long shadows from the low sun...
A nice composition with a lot of atmosphere!
