The St Leonards picnic ground is the location of a number of the images in my gallery, the ‘Golden Willow’, ‘Summer Fog’ and ‘Golden Rays’ series amongst others, my digital landscape journey began here.

St Leonards is now a suburb of Launceston on the eastern side of the North Esk River. First opened up in 1806 for pasture it was named Patterson’s Plains. In 1866, it was proclaimed a town and was named after Lord St Leonards; it still has a quant village atmosphere.

HI David

This is a stunning autumnal scene. Fresh and invigorating colours and sharpness. Nice POV used. TFS.

Beautiful image. The stillness, the empty seat and the frost are balanced by the warmth of the central tree.

I think I remember that tree and lamp-post as being in a few of your older images David.
Nice frosty morning and all that is missing is someone sitting on the seat on the right. I like the low light and long shadows too.

Hello David
I see twim ladies and a mademoiselle, out of the beauty salon, who strut about thier new bi-coloured dyes!!
Three kids at foreground who give the impression of vastness by the distance from each others!
Much romance is convied by the morning light.
Have a g'day.

Wonderful picture with frost. I thought at the beginning you are into IR but then realized how mistaken I am. It might be the heat of summer here, but there is a southern hemisphere too!

The autumn atmosphere is well captured!

How neat to see this scene of frost on the grass at this time of year, for me, my friend of many faces. I love the way the colours soften with it and how it can dance in the sun. Wonderful composition with beautiful use of light. Another winner.
Warm Regards

Weeping willows are among my favourite trees, David. And this is a beauty, and it's very nicely located there too. One thing is important with these trees, they need space imo. Well captured, the light is terrific...
