Thanks to whoever added it to the theme, I was in the middle of some text edit and lost contact with the server

I had no idea what to load for this week’s theme and the weather has not been conducive for outdoor photography, instead I opted for another photo taken in late April.

This image was taken looking down from King's Bridge and across the Yacht Basin on the same day as I took Sound of Silence, Autumn Fog and Beijing Bound. In the workshop the original image can be found.

Ah, a fog shot. :)

Truly though this is fantastic. Perfectly composed, beautifully exposed. Great mood and detail. Nice PP work - it doesn't show in the slightest!

Hi David,

but WHERE'S THE BRIDGE?!

(kidding...!)

very well composed, soft photo. I wonder if you processed selectively different areas of this shot for the ship is rich in details and being still soft is very soft, while the rest is a little out of focus. Both merged gave excellent effect - you have nice, but not disturbing background and very prominent primary object. Excellent work! tfs

Marek

a very nice "postcard" composition.
nice to be in that boat sleeping my troubles
away. the fog helps a lot with this photo.
great PP, well done.

Hell David,

My computer went down too!
Could it be overload from all the 'Themers' trying to upload at once!

Just a quicky, as I am due to go out in 5 mins! A wonderful shot! Just 'timeless' in its appeal! I do so love these foggy shots that you produce; they are ful of an inferred mystery! Quite recognisable as a 'Refugee' shot!'
Great composition. Lovely blurry outlines and reflections. Well done!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello David,
Beautiful atmosphere. The boat draped by the fog is well positioned in the frame, and very sharp. Truly recognizable as your signature shot. Danilo

Awesome shot. I love the mood you have captured here. Splendid composition. Well done.
Best wishes,
Achim

Lovley as always, my friend of many faces. The fog is very thick in this one indeed. I love how you get your subject to be so clear and detailed, with all the fog surrounding it. Beautiful boat and perfect composition. Great idea for the theme.
Warmest regards
Wanda

Hello David,
Wonderful photo. The fog adds a very special atmosphere very well caught. I love the difuse
lines behind the boat and the soft reflection on the water. Another great «Refugee work». Congrats, mb

Hello David,
What beautiful photograph - around a few at least of reasons.
Wonderful composition with the marvellous sailing ship, the wonderful fog and at the same time the wonderful sharpness.
Unusually romantic.
TFS and best regards
Zofia

Hello David, I like these shots of yours with the mist creating a mood of mystery.
This is a good composition, and surprisingly despite the mist there is still a reflection.I like the absence of an horizon.
As Els says, this is becoming your trademark, well done.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hiya David

I added it for you.. after I realised what day it was when I saw all the "Looking down" shots in the gallery and realised I had not opened the theme... oops.. blonde moment.

A really superb capture here my friend. Has a wonderful relaxing feel to it and the DOF is just perfect.A lovely addition to the theme

TFS and for joining in the theme

Wonderful soft colours!
Perfect composition!
Best regards!

Hi David,
I like your 'fog' shots ... you certainly mastered the way in making the fog work to your advantage. The atmosphere the fog creates is sometimes eerie just like this scene ... looks like a ghost ship. Good depth and lighting. Well captured and composed ... excellent work! tfs

The hazy misterious boads and poles in the background are making the composition complete.

Hello David, wonderful shot, excellent composition with the placement of the ship and the boats behind it desappearing quickly into the mist showing how thick it was, great mood. Excellent pp work as well

You have quite a nice collection of such scenes and, I had mentioned before, they all would make a good looking book.

Hello David
Fog is known as an incentive to introspection and in this case it prompts me for a morning coffee, seated on a pile of ropes somewhere on the stern and imagine she has the wind in her sails!
Best regards.
Robert

Bonjour David,
WoW! This is a great 'foggyscape' and well presented and composed with a beautiful boat. (Voilier),Excellent POV. and perfect portrait, great shot David , I put in my favorite..very well done.

Lovely atmospheric feel :-)
Well done David.

Hey David

Actually a nice separation by nature.
The complete BG seems to blur away - only the ship can be seen clearly. Nice effect

Best regards
