On my way back from Auckland - 24 hours in Melbourne and a beautiful spring day it was too. This 'thing' is on the banks of the Yarra River just outside of the city centre.... Very colourful but I'm not sure what it's supposed to represent!!!!! One of my favoutite photographic sites in Melbourne is the big wheel in the BG.

RAW, slight increase of saturation and cloneing out of dust spots on the sensor...

1/20sec @ f14, IS0 160 and +1.0EV at 13mm. slower shutter to try and get a little motion blur of the wheel in the BG.

Hi David,
You asked for it: this is a superb crisp and clear image. What the "thing" is? No clue, but for sure a superb sharp picture well composed great vivid colours. Great posting!
Hans

N.B. The horizon appears to be a bit tilted, just to let you know in case Linda doesn't notice it.

Good Morning David,

As my father would say, "It's a thing of purpose!" but I'm not sure what purpose!!
What I am sure about, is the beautiful clarity of your shot! It's sharp, detailed and the filter has made the sky a fantastic colour.
Just wish you had been able to hit the corners with the head to tail diagonal>

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

gran bella foto piean di colori
il dettaglio della coda del dinosauro è fantastico e anche la scelta della inclinazione che hai dato
bello lo sfondo con la ruota panoramica

Well you certainly had better weather than Auckland! Nice use of the tilt (or is that still the beer talking? I've heard the rumours about you guys) - and a spectacular display of colour, sharpness, and detail.

Lovely, dynamic image, both the wide angle and the CP have done their jobs well - a visually high-impact image. The tilt works well - very cool shot.

Bonjour..........

une oeuvre d'art sans doute ?
La photo me fait penser dans l'ensemble à un peinture style "primitif" c'est mon interpretation du moment.
Cependant de belles couleurs douces et prise de vue originale.

Hmmm, what is it indeed!! Interesting looking structure with some great painting by a talented artist.
Love the colors, the graduation of color in the sky, the intentional tilt, the big wheel in the back .. makes for a great, interesting shot. Good job.

David,

This is a most interesting shot! I like the angle, shadows, and that "whatchamacallit" seems to be looking right at me!! The tilt really works here David. Everything looks off kilter, but the big wheel (perhaps they need to change the pressure in the plane... you feeling ok? kind of dizzy? hahahaha) Kind of fools the eye if you ask me. :) Lisa

Hello David

WOW ! It is so crazy !
A strange but fantastic sculpture architecture I think.
Absolutly magic result. Strong colors.
I really love it.
The pov is also clever. Good good work

Best regards

Hi, David.
Interesting diagonal composition, colors and sharpness are fantastic.
Have a good spring: now, in Italy... the first snow has fallen.

Hello David.
Unusal point of view but here is working 100%! Sigma did a good job and looks very effective. Colours and detalis are perfect. And big wheel in the background.
Well done!
