[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After several years of missing this tiny bird as he jumped around the garden looking for insects, finally the camera was ready. I heard it is a blue wren, after thinking it was a blue-headed wagtail but commonly called willy wagtail. They hop around very quickly and fly off with the sightest movement.

The Superblue wren can be found in almost any area that has at least a little dense undergrowth for shelter, including grasslands with scattered shrubs, moderately thick forest, woodland, heaths, and domestic gardens. It has adapted well to the urban environment and is common in suburban Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. The Superb Fairywren mainly eats insects and supplements its diet with seeds.

Great spotting Murray, it looks wonderfully focused against the background. Nice use of the focal length. I quite like the crop, with the slightly off-centered composition. A shame about the leaf entering the frame as it steals a bit of the attention, but aside from that this looks great. Well seen.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Murray

These birds are common in Brisbane, too. Good backlighting & superb colour. Just a pity that the eye is lost in the shadow detail. Some pp work might retrieve it. I'd agree about the leaf at left, too. Tfs!

Willy is verry funny and photo is nice.Regards.Alin.
