[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another post from a recent holiday in Byron Bay. The seas were calm that day but the uprooted tree is evidence of storms which hit the area a few weeks before.
When the surf is up the Pass is famous for its long even break. It brings out lots of mature aged surfers with their long boards tucked under their arms.
This was a "lazy" shot - I just rolled over on my beach towel and saw the scene. Didn't even get up. (I was on holidays, no need for exertion).
Lazy PP as well - just a small increase in contrast and saturation.

Hello Terry,

Even the driftwood appears to be lazing ... laid back!
It was a good idea to use the wood for f/g interest but, maybe it's just a little too imposing, although it is just my opinion.
I like the mixing of textures with the wood, the agitated sand and the sea. The colours and relaxing atmosphere are well defined.
A crop from the top would put the lower branch just disappearing from the t/r/h corner. I feel it makes a good composition. What do you think?

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Terry.
Une belle recherche d’angle de point de vue pour mettre en valeur cette belle image.
Les couleurs et saturation sont bien adaptés à cette photo.
Bonne journée.

As we are deeply entrenched in autumn here, this looks very appealing to me ... I'd love to be there and feel that warm sand on my feet :)
Great perspective from your towel, with the dead tree in the fore, and the surfers in the back. I can almost smell the sea air.
Great on Terry

Hi Terry,
A lovely beach scene.
The colours are marvelous.
I like your POV. The uprooted
tree gives the capture character.
Regards.

Hi Terry,
Great angle with good depth.Good eye to have sized this one up.Great compositon and good contrast, impressive shot.Well done and TFS.
erwin...

Well spotted, it's great when a shot like this comes together.

The branches create nice angles to lead the eye to the island in the background.

Lazy sky is nice as well.
