Flowers of Fiji

I have no idea what this flower is called, but I thought it was so pretty I wanted to share it with you.

I found it in Nadi on the Viti Levu island of Fiji. To me it is a very special colour of blue. I think it was about 3-5 cms wide.

There were some beautiful flowers growing in Fiji, especially the Hibiscus. I had hoped to be able to see more Frangipani flowers, but the season was ending and I only managed to photograph some, but they were high up in the tree. I will post some of them at a later time.

Superb graphism & attractive color, in this excellent macro shot of the flower. Good dof & sharpness.

Great photo Janice!
I will try to find out what this is and follow up.
I would also like to refer you to one of mine (Clematis) and ask you whether you have had a similar experience with the blue/violet colours. The digital camera and the eye do not "seem" to reveal exactly the same colour wavelengths. No one has replied to my query yet.

Oh my, this is just beautiful, Janice! I love macro shots of flowers and this is a great one. The colors are so bright against the dark background. Excellent....:O)
