| I decided to scan in a few of my underwater slides. This is a Clown Fish in an Anenome. Clown fish hide in these for protection, and getting a photo is almost like a game of cat and mouse with the clown hiding, then coming back out time and time again. This photo was shot with a Nikonos V underwater camera with a 1:3 Extension tube. This is a tube that extends the 35mm lens away from the camera to give a magnification - full frame actual size on a 1:3 tube is 3 times the size of a 35mm frame. The tube actually has a wire frame that extends out in front of the lens and allows you to figure out where the focus point is. This makes it harder to get near animals. |

Great photo and a great note, very interesting techinque, shots like this are not easy to do, fish don't stay stilll very long and underwater everything is distorted I believe.
Christine.
This is a great shot. One can even see the expression (is that distress?) in the fish face that usually seen only in a Disney animation. :) Nice color balance but would be nicer if mor sharp image. But very nice for a scanned image.
Great shot, underwater photos are never easy. The colours are really vivid and the focus is very good.
The water must have been very clean for the flash not to show dust particals and other artifacts floating around, trully amazing.
