Aotea Square
Aotea Square is regarded as the centre of the city of Auckland City, New Zealand. Officially opened in 1979, it is used as the site for open-air concerts and gatherings, as well as markets open every Friday and Saturday from 10.00am to 6.00pm – rain or shine, plus political rallies.
It is located near the centre of Auckland's central business district, which is bounded by a motorway ring. The city's main street, Queen Street, runs along its eastern edge.
A popular meeting place for locals and visitors, Aotea Square is also the home of the Aotea Square Market
The name of the square is derived from Motu Aotea, the Māori name for Great Barrier Island, which is the largest offshore island of New Zealand and located approximately 90km from downtown Auckland.
This is another of the locals watching the Open Air concert that was amusing many of the onlookers.
Dawn, Sweety and I spent a while there taking photos and enjoying The Joker doing his tricks. |

Good candid picture.

Hi Janice, I can't help but wonder if the lass in the background is sending text messages of is checking out a photo she took with her mobile phone. Another good candid capture with fine colour and detail. TFS,
David
Many thanks for your comment on ‘You are so beautiful...’
I think you have a nice and amusing shot of these women. The cheerful face on the background add a nice touch of human emotion to the picture. The light is very good and brings out good colours on the scene. I think your angle is very good to show depth and good layering from front to back. One other thing I like the is contrast created by the faces on the shot. One is distracted by something while the other is just having a good time. Nice compo and thanks for sharing Janice :-)
