Haha ... wow! Love to see this one, it's great that you decided to upload an old classic like this. So you were an official photographer? Or was motor racing your thing?
Terrific capture, really great.

Hi Pete,
Well this was before my time but is a great piece of history, these guys certainly had nerves of steel to drive something like theses cars at the speeds the managed.
I am amazed at the detail that you have here considering that it's scanned from a slide and the age of it.
Nice work

I think you had better scan and preserve some more Pete. Excellent result for such an old image. Those guys were quite mad racing in those cars and on some of the tracks back then. TFS,
Dave

Hi Peter,
That is a great photo and I am glad it has been saved from decay! Those cars are just pure dangerous beauty. Those were the days when F1 drivers were real men. Superb work
Cheers

Great shot, and fantastic to see motor racing in a bygone age! This really captures the excitement of a GP start, nice one.

Hi Peter. That would be at Ardmore the old airfield circuit. Must have been just about the last one before moving to Puke. No 4 is Jack Brabham. Stirling Moss is No 7 on the other side of Jack. Happy to hear Ken is still going. Pic came up well after all this time. Thanks for showing. Keith

A great photo of a wonderful era of racing Peter. I was there on that day I'm sure, a day when it was pouring with rain and I can remember Sterling Moss being streets ahead showing his skill as a driver. He would be a force to recon with if he were driving todays F1 cars. Cooper Climax was the first of the rear engine racing cars.
I have a photo of the winners of the 1959 Ardmore Grand Prix i will post
Doug

Hi Peter,
Big piece of history here we have. Wonderful post. Nice B/W tones and good composition. This is different racing world than today's F1... In past depended more from driver's skills than car's systems...
Greetings from Poland,
