Here's a RAW shot I've been sitting on for a few weeks.. The red light bathing the SkyTower I believe for Chinese New Year back in Jan/Feb.. There were certainly lots of red lanterns hanging about everywhere.. I've got lots of night shots fo this tower but none with the red floodlighting..

Handheld against a lamp post on my way back from a relaxing beverage or three down at the harbour..

Ciao David,

wonderful take. Great lights, composition and excellent details. Really outstanding image.

Ciao,

Hi David

A superb nocturnal shot of the Auckland Skytower. Looks similar to the ones in Calgary, Sydney, Seoul & KL. Compo wise, the traffic light pole at left, is competing with the tower for attention. Good light trails in the fg, with excellent colour & sharpness. Tfs!

Seems like a lot of N American cities have towers like this too .. have you seen the CN Tower in Toronto?
Love this night shot David - the traffic streaks at the bottom, the starburst street lights, and of course the red glow. Great shot.

Hi David, great angle,at first I was not too sure if the metal arm of the traffic light signal should be in the image, but it really is a main part of this strong composition,
it does add strength & a balance.Sharp details & perfect exposure time.Main question what is the name of the beverage
you used ,before taking this shot,it may be the camera eqipment I've been missing to improve the quality of my images:)

Olala, hang on till Janice see this very 'artistic' picture. haha
Ones she showed us here pictures taken from the restaurant.
Must say, Excellent work on it, David.!
The black sky gices it a perfect contrast.
The grain at the buiding and road is very reasoneble.
Can't even make a remark about the amount of Kb's you'r using, sniff.! haha

(I've been in the 450 mtrs tower restaurant in KL, posted pictures from out there)

Worth all the work you've done on it.
Cheers.!!!

What a different POV this is from what we usually see. You would have been standing by the Palace. Great night shot David.
I like the moving lights from the traffic too
Well done
Janice

You were in New Zealand?? Did you see Janice and Dawn? What? no beach photo? B-) Nice work on this! Good night shot, I love all the light movement of the cars going by! Still sharp as a tack! That wide angle is awesome! Will be my next purchase, should our stock market turn around! HAHA!
B-)

Hi David,

I wanted to comment on this yesterday, but I got busy at work. Damn that work stuff, always gets in the way.

The colors are great in this one and I like the trails of the tail lights but no actual car getting in the way. It's an outstanding super wide angle shot, I love that lens - it was one of the biggest bargains I got for my camera!

See ya in the gallery!
