[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken on a recent trip to New Zealand, met up with a number of other TL people and had a great day out. This was in one of the parks in Auckland that they took me to (sorry but i can't rememeber the name), first time I had ever seen a black swan.
Just cropped a bit from the right hand side and increased saturation slightly.

Hi Derek,

Great looking swan has it's feathers a little ruffled though. The details are great and the colours are brilliant. I love the greenish colour of the water although at the swans back leg it looks clear well done.

Regards
Jon

Hi Derek,
Nice simple shot of the swan, good light, good detail in the feathers.
It was Western Springs lake where you took this one.
Cheers,
Pete.

Hi Derek,
Very nice photo, perfectly exposed. Extremely clear and sharp too, this wasn't at Western Springs Park next to the Auckland Zoo was it? Nicely photographed.

TFS,
Scott.

What a beauty Derek!

Great tight frame to reveal the beauty of the bird. I like the square frame you have used and the very sharp and clear capture. The colors are exquisite and they match the greenish water of the pond. Very eyecatching, indeed

Have a good day and TFS

You've show off the swan really well Derek. Black swans are quite common in NZ.

As the guys have already said, this was taken at Western Springs. That lake is going to be inundated with wild birds this weekend - it's the start of the shooting season and all the local wild birds seem to know that and they all flock to the lakes in town.
