Hi David,
Nice job. Excellent shadow details. I love the dark blue sky instead of pitch black sky. I bet it's not a star but the moon (10mm reduce object, and turn light source in star shape) but still not wide enough to get the hole boat. You should try it again with your fish eye. Excellent work and good mastering of the technic. TFS.

Hi, David. Nice sharp scene well composed with the center of interest the boat intersecting it diagonally. The clear deep blue sky looks very pretty and the sparkle in it looks like a star. cheers and TFS.

Well I'm very familiar with this landmark down at the Viaduct! ... As will a few other TrekLensers!
Not blurred indeed. Good use of the long exposure to make the most of the light.
Was this your 10mm at its widest? It seems to me that a 10mm lens should have been capable of getting the entire mast in the frame, especially if you used a vertical composition - I think that would make a very eyecatching shot!

This is nice David :)
Very fine job of long exposure, definitely not blur at all, lol :)
I do not know ur HDR treatment, if u intend to do HDR from a single exposure then i'd recommend (u can either test it) u making 05 exposures from ur NEF and save em as TIF then using PHOTOMATIX u can do tonal mapping 1st keeping light smoothing at high then in PS u can adjust brightness and contrast (as desired) it'll give u more details and tonal range (just my 2 cents)
Take care
Have a good day

Bonjour David
Très belle image nocturne qui donne un air racé a ce voilé.

Ola! That's it my friend. Superb clear and sharp :-) Glad this boat didn't moved during the exposure. Great contrasting colours, stunning blue night sky! The twinkling moon (?) is a bonus here. Excellent posting David...and agains those good memories.

Yes, no movement coming from this boat!! Run if you see it moving!!!
Good shot David - great night shot - and there's no one out there either.
Good composition coming from way down low and also getting the Maritime Museum in the photo too. Yes, I can see some people sitting down...

Excellent David
Nice weather here in Auckland, even though the chill is cutting to the bone. Fine perspective and the colours really ping from the the screen, I like that. Excellent exposures.

HI David
We all see differently, I would have gone for the addition of the mast and skipped the building.
You are right there is definitely no blur so well done on the shot.
Was the moon or start an artificial addition?
Dot
Beauty!
The starburst moon is great. Is that another star up there near the mast?
I think a really tall shot including the entire mast would have good too, but I like this.
Cheers David

Hi David,
The mast not being shown entirely bothers me a bit. But all the rest is great - the light you got out of the HDR is great, excellent sharpnes, unusual POV.
Very nice. But for the record, I liked the other picture with the blurred boat better :o)
TFS,
Robert

We still "love ya" blurry boats and all. (Like none of us has ever taken a blurry photo....HA) This is a neat shot. Really shows how important boating is in N.Z. Your blues and yellows are really neat! I really like the sky too.

Hello David ,
I had to come back since I saw yours late last night and I had to go to bed (^_^).
Thanks for the useful note, giving us a hint in how to capture such a beauty. The composition is quite spectacular. the moon and star are adding a mical mood to this urban mood.
Well done,
Robert

i am thinking of doing some long exposure shots of the night sky in Quetta City :)

David, still I wonder why your exposures have to be so long, i.e. 30 seconds on this one. It looks as if the lighting would allow a much faster shutter speed while still allowing the proper f/stop to capture the sharpness you want. Just wondering....
