Another shoot from Aucklands' Viaduct Basin, using the Canon 40D, instead of the Canon 400D. I was trying to capture a "reflective" mood shot, encompassing a stillness of night/air/water...

An other beautiful noctural shot. Very nice exposure, good dark tones, and well controled highlight. I like the overall blue light present. About perspective, I would have tilted the image a little bit CWW. Just a minor detail...Salutations.

You have posted a scene of the new-look Viaduct Basin that we haven't seen much of before - but one that no doubt will become more popular.
Lighting and reflections have come out well.

Wow, this is really nice Cris. Love the steely blue tones throughout. Fantastic observation .. the water appears to be perfectly calm, and it makes for some great reflections. Yeah, maybe a slight tilt to the right, as Denis said.

Hi Cris,
Welcome to TL! Great to see another Kiwi on-board. Very nice night shot, the water literally looks like marble here due to the long shutter speed. I was out shooting around this area the other week at night (the night before this in fact), I must do it more often though. I like this one, looks well exposed throughout.

To be picky though, I would have included the full length of the masts as there is only a tiny bit cut off at the top, there's also some slight motion blur from the small boat on the right but it's so minimal that it's hardly noticeable. Good job, looking forward to seeing more from you.
