[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken from Hopetoun Street overlooking the Spaghetti Junction with the SkyTower in the BG. Taken on a sunday when the traffic is not so busy which would probably be better on a week night for the taillights.
This junction is the main gateway towards the North Shore and further, Downtown, and to towards South Auckalnd and beyond.
F/16 at 16 seconds + RAW file conversion + 10 sat boosted in the blues.

Awesome shot. Love the colours in this one, your PP work makes it very eye catching.

I've posted a Workshop on this one which isn't actually a workshop at all... I stood in this exact spot and took the same photo during the day on Jun 6, 1996. It makes an interesting comparison: some of the roads in your shot are missing!!

hi Jim this a excellent shot with realy good use of shutter speed i have never ventured there yet but if this is results that you can obtain i will have to try it tfs

Hello Jim,a pretty good shot ,under this hard circumstances,I think it could use little sharpness.
The saturation and scen are top.

Hi Jim,
A very beautiful night shot and excellent time of the day. The blue hour makes for such a wonderful sky and gives stunning contrast to the warm lights of the street lights and passing cart. Your slow exposure allowed for wonderful movement. Everything in the photo is beautiful and perfect.

Niek

Hi Jim,
Damn, you beat me to it! I was planning on taking a shot identical to this from the exact same spot in a weeks time. Knew I should have got my ass into gear quicker, haha. A very good capture, love the tones in the sky. Nice blur from the moving cars, everything seems well composed and sharp. Well done.

TFS,
Scott.

Hello Jim,

I think night photography is real art and something I have never tried. ( Village don't have that amount of traffic!!) You have shown great expertise, here. The rich colours are the first aspect that attracts the eye; then, the soft, winding curves are tne next, pleasing attraction. (I say pleasing because it has been proved how the human eye appreciates curves - ha, ha, I could be getting into deep water, here!)
Lovely composition and nice balance from the verticals.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Jim, I really like this shot; the sky looks great, & sets a fantastic mood! That area is great for motorway shots/traffic flow imagery. It grabs my eye, due to the colors, the street light/s, & of course, the Sky Tower.

Hi Jim,
WOW! This is a great capture of this place during the blue hour! Excellent POV and use the long exposure!
The result is clear, sharp intense and dynamic. I like the traffic light traces and the beautifull contrast with cold and warm!
My compliments! Annie

Jim
Un lieu qui se prête à la photo nocturne. Une très bonne composition et des belles couleurs pour cette "heure bleue" très réussie.
Amicalement
JJ

ciao Jim..
i find this kind of captures always intriguing.. it reminds me to the movie "Kojanisquatsi".. and you have taken this subject in a perfect way.. interesting to look at time exposure.. "16 sec".. the rest is a wonderful mix of colours.. with a really good composition!
thanks
ciao Marco

Well framed and executed image. The timing was perfect to get such a deep blue sky. The highways lead my eyes further into the photo. Overall a very nice photograph. TFS
