Hi Rew,
Nice portrait, beautiful light and composition, very soft and respectuous...

Hi, Rew. Very nice, sensitive portrait. Her timidness comes through in an attractive way -- a positive, rather than a liability. (Well, I guess part of the trick is convincing people to pose for you.) I think the even lighting is good for this type of subject. And her skin tone looks very believable. The gentle highlights on her face are great. In fact, the more I look at them, the more I appreciate their subtlety. The stronger highlight on her shoulder adds depth, though, which is good. Obviously, the bra straps are not ideal, but I know you were focusing on a lighting experiment, not a polished photo for publication. In the same vein, though, I think I would try cropping up from the bottom to about her midriff, to avoid the rumpled part of her clothes and just draw more attention to her face. (If you want to preserve the standard portrait aspect ratio, I think you could also crop in from the left side.) The part of the chair I can see seems to detract a bit, because it's unresolved. Also the slow shutter was a great idea, because you can almost get a sense of her breathing and thinking. I'd like to see another one of her in that same position, head exactly the same, but looking up as well. Best, Hugh

You have captured her emotions beautifully. The lighting is subdued in harmony with her timid pose. There does seem to be a shadow across the top right which might have something to do with the position of your reflectors?? Well done.

Hi Rew - I like this very much as there is more of a natural feel to the shot..please don't take this the wrong way as it is my personal preference, but many studio-style portraits just leave me cold. they almost seem fake, unnatural.
But this, for me, works very well, it feels less staged. I'm glad you posted this as it seems to show her natural personality rather than something put on for the camera. Nice shot.
hi Rew,
good portrait, well framed and well exposed. I like the background. The pose is also very good. I think it's a bit soft though, maybe more sharpness.
cheers!
First things first....Love the background, First thing that caught my eye (it does not take away from the main image, but I always seem to look at that first).
I can only find one thing wrong on this lighting set up (and that it on the whole image as well) The light from behind her is a perfect idea and works wonders, it should just have been tilted a tad higher, the light is a strong on her right shoulder, had that been higher this to me would have been spot on.
I love the shyness about this photo, almost inocent like, I actually think you should try more shots with her.
I love the fact that it is not a sharp photo. I always try and get my images sharp, but a photo esp. one like this makes it when it has a softer appearance to it. I must try it myself. (*_^)
Thanks for sharing
And well done, I can see some nice shots coming our way with your lighting set ups.
Clint
The light on the left is distracting because it only highlights one small area of the shoulder.
I like this pic because she actually convey that shyness you are writing about, good skin tones everywhere. That brings us to the point again: Would her shyness and hesitance not come out better in a different environment? Ok, the purpose is to experiment with light set up. Hmmm mixed feelings about this one.
wow! love it! lack of experience is obviously Susie's advantage...
a realy good mood u catch... Great shot. Well done TFS

Hi Rew,
Excellent shot, very nice portrait, I like your lighting here, she have nice skin tones too. I check out all the workshops and there are a few things I thought I should express to you...I like to see... maybe you can get her to have her to sit up straigh a bit with shoulder backwards(show confident), hide her bra strips, looking up 45 degree with her face tilt to right side. I hope you don't mind me pointing all these out... (I am not even good at it) just my person opinion. :D Thanks for sharing
Cheers,
Sweety
Rew she looks quite shy and uncomfortable you almost feel it for her by looking. It is a great picture, very natural. Great clearness and color. Love the mood. TFS

Hello Rew. As you know I am not a portrait photographer. Three lovely images and I think you chose the best one as the main. A lovely pose which shows her shyness. Well controlled light, good colour and soft detail. An attarctive young lady also. TFS,
Dave
Many thanks for your comment on ‘Summer Fog III’
Hi Rew,
Really, your model appears so shy! You showed very well part of her inner mood...
Mary
Hi Rew. Good portrait of this lady. Excellent note about lighting etc. Your portfolio has come to be a remarkable series. Good work. Murray.
Hi Rew, very nice shot of a classic beautifull women. She has such a lot of inner beauty too. I like the lighting setup as it creates very delicate and soft shadows at places which accentuate her beauty. Nice pose and colours she's wearing.

Hello Rew. Perfect framing for Susie and the lighting arrangement works well too. No harsh shadow with natural skin tone of the subject. I like it and thanks for sharing. Best regards. Jusni
