Back to Susie - as she starfishes on the lawn, gazing at clouds.

Taken from our balcony on a spring afternoon.

I couldn't decide if this shot was better in colour or black & white - or indeed with a closer zoom. I'd appreciate feedback on your preference - and of course any thoughts on the shot itself!

Hi Rew...it's an interesting shot, I like the position towards the bottom right and (sorry, there's no easy way to say this...) but with her legs open to the other corner.

There's a lot to play with in this shot, which makes it interesting for me - if her head had been looking ovr her right shoulder, that may have been a nice variation, with maybe her hair over the other shoulder.

I like this because it gives a lot to think about, good shot!

As to the b/w or colour...i've posted a partialy desaturated third option - hope u dont mind!

I like the saturation on the colors! Deep green works very well with the pink and blue. I dont think the bushes on the top right is adding anything and I think they should be cloned out... I am unsure what the message of the pic is... ok, you have me guessing!
I like your stuff and the smileys goes toward that :)

Good one Rew! Susie is looking more relaxed than in the other photo. The bright shirt shines out well.
I always prefer colour, so I'm no judge with BW.

Good perspektive Rew.
Pretty shot, excellent composition. Very well done.

I like this Rew, and I prefer the colour. It's different, a creative type portrait. I'm no good at giving in depth analysis, but the compositon is cool. It caught my eye
whilst browsing.

to me b&w version reflects the mood of this photo the best - cheers, Tom

Hi, Rew. Well I guess if we knew Susie like you knew Susie . . . she doesn't seem quite so shy anymore. I guess she's taking to the modeling gig. I love this pose and the composition is great. Excellent how her left leg is tilted in a bit. I sort of wish she were smiling, maybe, to take the edge off the fact that she's splayed out on the ground. (Cloud Shapes? Is she trying to imitate them?) I feel that the clarity of this image is not up to your usual standards. Maybe because of the slow shutter speed. Also her skin may be a touch too bright. And I'm kind of seeing a color cast over the whole thing. I wonder if, even though you had the CP, you might also need a UV as well. Or maybe it's a post-prod issue. For those reasons, and also for the simple starkness of the image, I prefer the black and white version. But despite all this picking, I really like it. In the cases where I've seen you take the models outside, I think you do really good things with them. This is another example.

Great picture love your clouds pov here. I think you chose right to do color instead of b/w. She should have been looking upwards not towrds you for a daydreaming look. Great picture and pose! TFs

Definitely better in color, Rew! Also, a closer zoom you might have lost the bushes, which I like in there.
Now here comes the crazy artist in me: her pose, cloned into the clouds she is looking at.....
Cheers

Hi Rew! I LOVE this shot, I am so glad you posted this. I actually love the cool tones and bright colors on this shot, she realy pops out from that flat green grass. I like her melancholy expression, as I said before ;) it looks like a still from a movie all about her, like she's just been through a dramatic time and she's contemplating her life and what to do. I think the shot would have been even better if you didn't have the hint of green bushes in the top right corner as it breaks the continuity of the grass and background for Susie. Just my two cents. Beautiful and poetic shot, TFS!
P.S.: thanks for being so supportive of my Alcatraz series ;)

Hi Rew

Just something I picked up along the way......yep I am learning quite a bit...(*_*)

A polarizer I will use almost anywhere even in shade. BUT ONLY ON ONE FACE AND VERY CLOSE UP. For some or other reason...just my experience....I have picked up a lot of loss in detail to faces when at a distance. Now I have picked up some loss of detail in yours as well, But then I also know we have to down size a lot.

I love the fact that you are experimenting with so many different things. That is what makes me want to look at your site.

Cheers
Clint

Excellent Bro.

I like it. Its a good wallpaper. =)

TFS.

Hi, rew! Kamusta? its been a long while since the last time i visited you... anyway, i hope i could make-up for the loses... POV is great and I like the concept... but on my oppinion i would suggest a tighter crop to avoid the ugly bushes from the right corner...
Thanks for sharing..
