AA again; outside.

Still getting to grips with the Canon at this stage, and the 75-300mm lens. I love its shallow depth of field and the nice bokeh it delivers to the background ... but the light was very difficult this day.

Not direct sunlight, but light high cloud, and it was the middle of the day so there was very high contrast between light and shadow.

AA brought out her Graduation Dress for this shoot ...

PP - crop, small adjustment of gamma.

Hello rew

Yeah ! nice one, great light, cloudy wheather is good for the photographers :)

Olivier

great pic light is nice, clouds prob helped cut down contrast for that time of day.
comp and exposure is good, maybe crop little off top

Hello Rew,
something different - although it is the same pretty model. I am not sure about this compo. That the light was difficult is obvious. The dress and pose of AA looks very natural and beautiful. The mossy tree adds something mystical. However the model also looks a bit lost in the frame. Maybe a closer crop would help.
Maybe more visible BG would also look nice. You have to find out yourelf and compare different settings.

Rew,
I like this outdoors shot of your model - in a more natural pose and environment.
The subtle light bouncing off her skin is beautiful.
Well done,
Dave

I definitely prefer a natural BG - it's a nice, moody portrait; one remark: is everything OK with horizon?
cheers - Tom

Very natural and appealing. Well done!

I like the outside image every bit as well as the studio captures. You seem to be mastering the new equipment. The old "saw" is true - it isn't the camera, it is the photographer that is the most important factor.

Very nice natural light here Rew.
I like the outdoor setting too.
A nice natural pose and earthy tones work well.
Good work.

Cheers

Hi Rew. Good to see the new camera is getting some field work. This portrait has good subdued tones about it. Excellent data available above. Will be a good learning tool. TFS. Murray.

hi Rew,
nice shot, very natural.
I like the highlight in her hairs.
tone colors and nice place. POV and DOF are really nice here, focus and detail just great. no need general critique for this portrait, just a bit OE in her sholders.
very well done.

Rew

Good to see you getting the hang of the Canon. I've got the same 75-300 lens, and I find the results with it to be quite good, provided you take a little care with it. It's a bit of a beast. Despite being considered one of Canon's "budget" lenses, it's capable of some fairly impressive results. I always dial up ISO400 with mine. I find the best all-round aperture is f/8 for sharpness.

Anyway, onto the photo... what can I say? You're just getting better and better at this. She looks quite comfortable in front of the camera.

I can see an increased level of detail and clarity in the images since you got the new camera.

Hello Rew,

Your composition is fantastic. A sensual moment is beautifully presented in this fine image. Nice natural tones and colors. Excellent shot my friend, well done.

Thanks for sharing this image.

This is a lovely shot Rew. You've caught 'true romance' in my books. I think the light is subtle and is well suited. The colours and earthy tones are very natural, as is her pose.
Well done.
Regards, Kath

hi Rew..
Really very good portrait.. subtle and elegant..

REw,

Good portrait my friend... Thanks for sharing..

broclay

Love this picture the colors, the textures and the beautiful pose. The only thing nagging at me is the shoe. she should have been barefoot but then again the sharp twigs would have been painful. This is beautifully taken. TFS
Christan

I love the emotive expression and pose of the model. The bokeh and sharpness in very impressive. Galing! :)

Hello Rew: The high clouds are of advantage for the light conditions, which I think are perfect here. Nice pose.
Only thing that bothers me is the bg: the line between green and dark is somewhat crooked and too stark in contrast. Maybe some pp work to softly blend the two to get rid of that horizon line alltogether?
Cheers
Otto

Hi Rew...I like the composition of this one. Your lighting and clarity are perfect as usual.

Great portrait Rew. I like the colour harmony, soft tones of skin and very natural and impressive pose.TFS

Hi Rew,

so you've got a new toy...great !
I also love my 70-300 Nikon, it is a great lens.
But whatever lens you use, your pics are always top.
I suppose there is winter now in your part of the world, so the light is not as bright, but still the composition is great and you made the best of it, as usual !

Martin

another perfect shot of you.her expression, details and the colors..can't find what to say really.
