Kristy at her soap-opera best down at the cemetery.

Lighting was via reflector held by her younger sister Kim (thanks, Kim.)

I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of outdoor portraits, but I may be wrong ... feedback much appreciated!

Great lighting here, I like Kristy's pose, it all seems very natural, you seem to get the best from your models Rew.

Hi Rew

I always marvel at natural light from behind, and here you have used that advantage fully, at 1/200s without flash yet still retain great metering on the face, the white dress not OE.

Nice bokeh and her glaze direction works well here. TFS

cheers
bill

Hi Rew, Yes, your portraits out or in are always good to see on TL. I like the earnest look you have captured and presented here. An appropriate look for this place. Good work. Murray.

Hi Rew, although the backlighting is good here but it seems she is not relaxing or does it meant to be ? Good to know that you are beginning to like the outdoor portraits, it's much fun, cheers, ari

Nice portrait.Very good use of lighting.I like the brown shades in the top of kristy's head much more than the over exposed hair(towards left side of her head).

Thanks

Hi my friend,

Another excellent outdoor potrait. I love how you used availalble lighting to create the light reaming through her hair. Lovely shot, lovely composition and excellent pose by kristy. Is that blood stains on the tombstone :-)?

:-)

You're right Rew,this does have a soap opera feel about it.
I think I like it the best of all your cemetery shots.
Good exposure and very nicely composed.
Cheers
Steve

Beautiful. No need for more words but since its me I will add... The expression of sadness and deep thought was well captured, the light on her hair and the gorgeous dress makes her almost angelic. Beautiful. TFS
Christan

I do no why I feel not confortable with portrait, comparing to the other ones I saw.

She is nice, but she looks like "tired" ...

Hi Mate,

Model's facial and body posture is well express in relation with the scene. The used of natural lighting and reflector is well metered. Great work!

My eyes for a moment stays on the cross detail instead of confusing on the model, maybe, if the cross is abit blur my eyes will stay with Kristy, just my thought, I haven't done this kind of outdoor portraiture yet

Regards,
Andy

this tells an expression Rew, Krysty's whole body is well focused. the lightings i believe is just perfect.well done.

Rew...
wonderful !
perfect !
very well done.
best regards

Hey, Rew,
Beautiful composition. As others may or may not have commented, she has a fantastic look in her eyes. It could have been easy to have her looking right at the monument, but instead she seems to be looking beyond it and so, deep within her memory and sorrow for the person who has died. Good acting, if that's what it is. While the light along her arm is really dramatic and working well to set her apart from the background, I wonder if the highlights on her hair are too strong. The one thing you should fix are couple of specks -- one next to her head, just above her left eyebrow (it's almost part of the bokeh) and a more prominent one at the level of her lips, to the left of her face in a gray patch of the background. Nice work. -Hugh

Hi Rew,

Very well captured her expression . . seems she's reading small size text . .
Light from the granite counce back to her is really natural . .
I like the composition . .
She is beautiful lady . .

Tfs,
TJutjut

A difficult shot, very well handled Rew. The back lit give her hair a good highlight and great light on her face with the reflector. The mood of this cemetry will enhance if you do a colour selection IMO. Cus my preference will go with monochrome then she would looks like an angel in her surrounding
