When I first saw the thumbnail I thought this was in b/w and it looked pretty powerful. Was a little disappointed when I opened the shot and saw it was in colour...but even so, I like the shot. You have caught the atmosphere very nicely, a great sense of dampness in the air and on the leaves in particular.

It would have been too cold for Bianca at that time of the morning Rew!! I like how you have framed the 2 headstones between the 2 trees on each side. The fog suits the cemetery too!

OOOOOOOH, its different! I like it.

I can definitely tell you took this in the morning, it appears almost 'ghostly' due to the morning fog.

I think color was a good choice here because the colors are so striking, and the graves are well placed in the frame. Very well done.

So can we be expecting a bianca set soon??? :)

Oooooh, I like this, Rew.
I like the way the trees frame the sides and then narrow to the tombstones and then the eye is drawn further into the shot by the faintly colored tree in the center. Beautiful detail, lovely soft color and a fine moodiness to this. Wonderfully done! Many thanks and kindest wishes,

The tones and colors are very interesting in this atmospheric photo! Very subtle... Cemetery and autumn, both point out a symbol of died before the rebirth. The latent light in your photo predicts that.

Hello Rew,
I already saw this one yesterday, as a thumbnail, and the red spot of the tree in the background looked a bit "intrusive" to me (too bright for the grave yard atmosphere).
However, after clicking on the thumbnail and viewing the full-size version of your photo, I have to change my point of view.
The subdued red shape of the tree and the brighter red spots of the leaves evoke a feeling of consolation in a world of grey tones and eternal silence.
This is a colour photo, but it somehow has the mood of a black and white. Death can be intense...

The Moooooood is well captured. Fog is so much fun to play with especially in a cemetery, that alown adds to the mood. Not sure what to think about the "orange" tree in the center. Mmmmmm not sure.

Hi Rew,

A different shot this time my friend. Very beautiful red colors on the ground and in front of you on the tree are gazing my eyes. I think that the main color which can catch the eyes here is red. Then the green colors around are nice to see. The silhouette trees and branches and of course the graves are giving us an old feeling of this place and death people. Also this has a good relation with the cold time of early morning of this shot. The fog and the atmosphere has a proportional relation with the graves which has a cold feeling and reverse relation with the red colors which gives us the feeling of the life and survivance. Sharp and detailed capture. Congratulation! Superb shot with clever idea behind. TFS!

Very nice Rew and a wise choice of settings. My Olympus will only go to ISO 400 and I have tried that setting in fog but get a better result with below 100. Well composed and nice litte touches of colour.

As I grow older I find I am drawn to cemetaries when I see them. In your shot you captured all the elements, fog, light, darkeness, colours, and a good dof. Its the kind of resting place a beginning photographer like me would want... a room with a view.
Bravo its one of the best photos I have seen since I joined that has not been altered by over pp.

Nice lighting adds a dramatic effect in this photograph. Far away red tree is also adding colour to it. Only left side framing could have been better. Overall it is a good experiment.

Hi Rew,
If Alas and/or Bianca are somewhere in this frame, the result could be something, different. I imagined them in black attire, looking down or maybe doing some 'mystical' pose.

Uhh... forget about it... this is just my imagination. An imagination that came across my mind when seeing the mood of mystical in this photo. The mist is there with something in sight - not just a plain empty mist. That is giving me a 'WOW'. They had really given a great drama to your foreground, your main subject.

Interestingly framed by those trees and its branches, you had put an icing to your cake. Great composition, well treated details, tone and color.

Rew,

I like how you caught that splash of color in the background exactly between the two headstones, and it's almost a reflection of the color in the foreground.

A little more detail in the headstones would be great, but I have a feeling that has more to do with the image size here on TL than anything else. Have you thought about HDR for this one? I'm not necessarily a big fan of that style, but it might be worth checking out here.

You should have woken Bianca, what's more important? Sleep? A good photo shoot? Where are your priorities? :-)
