North Piha 2
On the West Coast just a 40 minute drive from Downtown Auckland Piha is dominated by Lion Rock, a well known landmark. The rock proudly separates North and South Piha beaches. Surfers from around the globe travel here to experience the consistency of good waves that this very special stretch of coastline provides.
Piha is rugged, untamed, and unspoilt by large scale development. Heavily guarded by those who see what the area provides - unequalled beauty. |

Hi Tim,
I love how these shots are all very similar, but very different in their own way. I like the inclusion of the seagull in this one, looks like the tide had retreated a fair way since your last shot (unless this was taken before shot 2). I still have a few Piha shots to come, always a magnificent place to photograph, as seen here in your photo. Well captured, awesome colours and reflections.
TFS,
Scott.
Breathtaking! Very sharp! Maybe too much beach. Thanks for sharing.
Rob
The seagull (and its reflection) really makes this shot. Brilliant!
Slightly prefer your deeper, more contrasty, more saturated shots.
