Another "in the office" shot.

One of the unavoidable evils of my job is the client who wants to voice his own ad. Despite not having any voice training, despite the risk of sounding terrible on air ... the temptation is often too much for them.

The skilled Creative and Engineer will go with the first reasonable effort the client can produce, signal "success!"and get the whole ordeal over with.

A staged moment, of course.

Shot once again on the Lumix compact, using available light.

I like this one - novel POV and comical faces the engineers are wearing! Be honest - was this a set-up shot or genuinely candid??
Nicely composed, sharp and the ambient lighting is fine.

Cheers
DAvid

Hi Rew,
Sounds like you've got a great job, must get quite a good laugh from it sometimes. Great POV with this shot, the clarity is top-notch. Well controlled reflections against the glass too, the guys outside of the sound-room are just as sharp as the FG subject. The lighting is well balanced too.

TFS,
Scott.

Like the comp and POV
well done with DOF in this light

hey Rew!
i never knew that you are in the sound industry. what are you? a sound editor or a voice over artist? as i am also in the same field. :-)

the shot is wonderful, conveys the whole story inside the audio studio. interesting but dramatic expressions as if they are showing that they highly impressed with the voice.
interesting moment captured.

regards
Manuj Mehta

Bom dia Rew,
All story is in the gesture!...
Great presentation, crisp, good colors and excellent POV.
Nicely done,
Raimundo

Another lovely capture.

thanks,

The cheesy looks on their faces is priceless after all "you are pay the bill Mr Client and you are King". Magness Benrow ad's are classic they are so bad they are memorable. Very novel photo.

These guys deserve an award, great actors!! You have me laughing this morning :) I'm sure this was alot of fun for all of you. And a great picture!! Nice and sharp. The colored wall makes a great bg. Fantastic expressions. TFS

Another good one in this series Rew. They've done a fine job of portraying the enthusiastic, over-zealous engineers. And the simple hand held out and shoulder shrug of the client is perfect. Body language .. amazing hey? All we see is his arm and hand, and we know what he's saying!
Good one Rew. Interesting to see into your job .. most of us never see this .. where it's all made.

Hi Rew,

Funny office shot! Even though it was staged, I like the cheesy looks on their faces. Very sharp and excellent use of available lighting.

Best regards,
Werner

Rew, This really brought a smile to my face. I can only imagine that part of their job is having a strict poker face when necessary. What if someone really is horrific? How do they keep a straight face? (I couldn't).

Anyway, I like the lighthearted feel of the photo. Who doesn't like to hear "good job!"? Great expressions captured ---even if staged. Lisa

hi rew,
this series of yours is really amusing - I like very much the way you're showing the different aspects of your job, it's a interesting insider view and the shots (staged or not) look very natural.
great focus on the mike =)

Hello Rew
For me the most attractive part here is the expressions of those two guys especially the one with squint smile :D

old memories :)

Good one

Un côté "backstage" intéressant, l'humour en plus ^^

Hi Rew

Nice story ! I can relate to that :)
What I like about this one is the sole use of ambilight.
My big thing, never use artificial extra light, as photography means literally 'writing with light' , not 'drowning in surplus light'........
Visitig your gallery once in a while always brings a smile on my face :)

TFS again

Nice one, Rew. We had those one's too who wants to do their own ads. I am also in the broadcasting bussiness, previously TV News camerman, video editor, then news director at state broadcaster. Friend of mine used to do the same work you doing and he used to let them do up to 50 takes of the same ad in an attempt to discourage them to do their own ads.
Like the composition and action.

This is cool Rew. I like it.

Staged or not, this photo tells the story, no words needed.

Regards,
Lois
